We would like to clarify some things outlined in rule #9 of the "Rules and Regs of the JPL Forums" because we have had some requests to explain this further recently.
The first thing to look for when posting a thread is finding the appropriate section and category to post your new thread. If you want to start a thread about a singer other than Jon, for example, it would go in "Music, that which is not Jon" category (in the Off Topic section), UNLESS this person is currently or has been a contestant on American or Canadian Idol. Then it would go in the American and Canadian Idol Category. Once you are in the appropriate category, please look to see if there are any other threads about this person. If so, then your post should go in that thread, rather than starting another thread. So any news, questions, or additional tidbits or comments about that person or band would be added to the existing thread for that person. In most cases, Jon should be the only musician or band that has more than one thread. (Because this is his official site.

) This helps save space on the forum and helps to keep it organized.
If you want to post something about your day or share some random thoughts, that would fit well in the "How's your day going" thread located in the Community Chat Category. These type of things don't need their own thread started.
If you haven't posted in a while and wanted to stop by and say "Hi!", I have started a thread for all those types of posts in the Community Chat category. Please use this thread rather than starting a new one for that topic.
Occassionally, a thread is started that asks, "What has Jon been up to, have I missed anything?". If you look at the way the forum sections are set up, all stuff related to Jon is on top so that it is easy to find. Also, if you click on the "Community" tab at the top, it takes you straight to a page that lists all news and updates regarding Jon. This is a good place to check for a quick update.
If your post is on a new topic or about someone or something that doesn't already have a thread, then you would start a new thread in the appropriate category and section. We encourage everyone to post often, but to please read the guidelines before starting a new thread.
We hope this information has been helpful. Keeping the forum organized helps us save space and make our forum more organized. We hope you continue to participate in making this a fun place to meet friends, old and new, and to chat about Jon and other things!
