I know there is a thread about Jon's latest journal entry under the This N That area, but someone pointed out to me that maybe people still aren't aware that the new journal entry is posted. So I am going to go ahead and start a second thread here under News. I myself don't always make it down to the This N That area, so it may be a good thing to have 2 threads to alert people to the new journal. At the risk of sounding very dumb, can someone tell me about the Suns? What would Jon have been doing at their game and who are the 2 women with him? Are they broadcasters of some sort? And what is that large yellow truck? Does anyone recognize what that kind of truck is used for? Is it for fetching golf balls? LOL But I hope Jon doesn't spend much time at all using his newly won golf clubs. The world does not need Jon the golfer--it needs Jon the singer/performer/song writer.

The woman to Jon's right, Brandy Chastain, is a US soccer player. Perhaps best known to non-sports fans as the woman who got so excited after scoring the winning goal in the 2002 (?) World Cup that she tore her own shirt off. I had to google Marcia Wallis(s) (which Jon made easy by arbitrarily adding an extra 's' to her name ). Apparently, she's a pro golfer. I assume they were in the charity tournament with him.

Thanks for that info Claudia! I am still unclear what the Suns are though. LOL Are they a soccer team? A golf team? (heehee) A basketball team? From where? I guess what you are saying is that these people were golfing in the tournament with Jon and then they all went to a game at some point. For some reason, I was thinking the events weren't connected, but that makes sense now.
And let me point out that from what I have seen of Steve Young, he is a seriously great person to hang out with. Jon is making himself some mighty fine friends.

The Suns are the Phoenix Suns, an NBA basketball team. He was most likely at one of the playoff games, which were last with the Memphis Grizzlies. Sigh. Wish I had been there. And you're right Arts, Steve Young is a good person to know.

I visited Steve Young's website after learning that Jon was involved in the charity tournament. The tournament took place in Phoenix on April 12, 2005 and since I knew that the Suns are an NBA team located in Phoenix, I figured he went to the game while he was there. Also, however, the page on the site where celebrities register to participate in the tournament, they are asked if they are planning to attend the Suns game versus the New Orleans Hornets as well. So...yeah. I guess they all played a little golf, then headed over to the game.

Now, that was a surprise! He's right, I wasn't expecting that entry; Jon came out of left field with that one!. I thoroughly enjoyed this entry, it made me laugh. It was lighthearted and whimsical yet filled with valuable information. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see him in any of the places he mentioned. For reasons uknown the place where I live didn't carry that version of Family Fued. I searched for it dilligently, but finally had to give up. Looks like Jon's been pretty busy (playing that is) no, I'm sure he's been busy writing songs too. Looks like he has the right mix of fun, work, and recreation. Maybe in a few weeks he'll have a more definite target date for his album. I'm sure he's going to come on here and tell us "the album will be ready at such and such a time." July, August? I know it's coming-I can feel it!
So I guess jon must not be bad at golf if his team came in second...must be that natural athleticism coming to the fore which is evident in all those dance "moves," eh?
