Starting on Thursday, May 3, Jon should be singing and playing his guitar on Fox Reality Channel's show called "Idol Extra." This show will repeat throughout the week with the first airing on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Eastern. Here is the list of Eastern times when the show ought to air:

Does anyone get this station? If so, I'd really appreciate if you would let everyone know soon what happens on the show. I don't get this station in my satellite package. Thank you to any helpful people who can give a report.

Since "Idol Extra" will be devoting extra time to Sanjaya's exit this week, Jon's appearance on the show has been rescheduled. He is now scheduled to sing on the show in 2 weeks. We should get further verification as we get closer to the date for this appearance.

My aunt and uncle get this station. I watch it sometimes. there is a person on a forum I'm part of who does weekly recaps of it, too. And another person who captures it and puts it online, but you have to have some special program for it to work

I get the reality channel (I think) so if I'm around and remember to watch it I'll be sure to post about it as soon as I can. But, two weeks is a ways off, so someone may have to remind me to tune in. LOL
Apparently, Jon will sing a song from the album for this show.
I had been crossing my fingers for him to do one of the newer songs, but I will still be very happy if he chose "Turn To Grey" or "Man Like Me" since I think those are his best songs on the album for an acoustic performance like this.
I hope the fact that they are going to bump 2 finalists this week doesn't interfere with Jon being on.

Apparently, Jon's appearance on "Idol Extra" has indeed been postponed because of 2 finalists getting sent home this week. However, look for Jon to perform this Thursday, May 3 on TV Guide Channel's "Idol Chat." Check TV Guide's site for times. The first airing should be Thursday at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time with repeats all week. Or you can also check for times and video on Kim Caldwell's site.
In response to a fan's question, Jon did say that he had sung "Man Like Me" for the "Idol Extra" broadcast. I was happy to hear that.

I actually attended the recording. He performed a most beautiful rendition of "Man Like Me." (he looked good, too ;-) ) Afterwards I got to talk to him, and he falsely thought we had met before, it was kind of funny. Also, he voluntarily gave me a hug. I didn't ask for one, he gave one to me. It was pretty cool! I was disappointed to see it didn't make the final cut of that show, and I'm still waiting to see it.
Awe, that's so cool GreyCat1! Jon is so sweet. Maybe you looked like someone he met before. That's really great that you got to hear him sing "Man Like Me". It really suits his voice.

He did a very nice job on the show. I got to watch it tonight since I was at my uncles house. Bo was on it too I thought out of all the performances of his I've seen on tv, that was his best, vocally.

And there is some chance the video will be posted on the American Idol site since they do post some clips from "Idol Extra." Folks will just need to watch there since they are a little behind in putting up the videos. I am not sure if there is a way for us to influence them to include Jon in the clip they post.
