It's pretty cool to look at the liner on the CD and see Josh Groban, Norah Jones, Reba McIntyre and then Jon Peter Lewis. And I think of all their fans and people in their organizations who will see the same thingSmile And likely listen, at least out of curiosity. And then they're hooked. Bwahahahaha!

It's sort of the nature of Christmas albums that people just pop them in and listen to the whole disc...so I imagine LOTS of folks will be falling in love with jon's tune this Christmas. Thumb

With any luck, in a few days, I'll have my NOW! Christmas 2 CD, so that I can hear the full length version of Jon's wonderful new song! Smile And, also so I'll have it to use as part of my "supporting data for my debate, in December! Wink

My CD finally arrived and I've listened to "It's Christmas" about 8 times. It's a great song!

Yes I understand that, but I just think it would be nice to be able to have an actual debate with him... And you really don't want the poor guy conceding to you as soon as the debate starts right?

It's pretty cool to hold that CD in your hand and look at the song list, isn't itSmile And jon's sounding great in my car. Trouble is, I can only listen to a few bars of the next song .....Good King Wenscelaus (or however, you spell it!).....before I hit the "back" button.
Congrats! You're the winner!

Ahhh...reading all the great reviews of Jon's song, is making it difficult for me to be patient and wait for my CD to get here. I still have about a 10 day wait, at least! Tongue

Oh well, at least I should have my CD in time for my debate in December! If not, the CD company will hear from me...LOL Wink

LOL But of course. Wink When I've got such great supporting data, as Jon's beautiful song, to prove my point; how could I not win? Wink

I am very happy. After a long time with my sound on my computer not working, I finally have the sound back! Hooray! I now get to listen to "It's Christmas" through my headphones where it sounds even more wonderful! I have already commented on two other threads about the lyrics and the great guitar rhythm, etc., but let me say here and now that I really love how Jon sings the low notes. "Save some love for me" is super every time. So is the way he sings "fire lo-OW." But maybe one of the best parts for me vocally is when he holds the word "know" on "friends we used to knooooow." I have always been a huge fan of his vibrato and we get a bit of the vibrato there. And it is the low vibrato! I remember giving the dictionary definition of vibrato before, but it bears repeating here again. So I went back and dug up that post for nostalgia's sake. This is what I said way back in Oct. 2004 on the American Idol forum:
"From my dictionary: Vibrato-a slightly tremulous effect imparted to vocal or instrumental tone for added warmth and expressiveness by slight and rapid variations.

Many of these finalists have such wide vibratos that their voices couldn't even be said to be trembling--it's more like convulsing. They sound like fog horns going off over and over again. I think JPL's vibrato has the perfect speed and perfect degree of variation in pitch.

"Added warmth and expressiveness"--What a fine summary of what JPL does with his voice."

So why did I bore y'all with repeating that? Mostly because this is such a warm song, and Jon's sings it in a very expressive way.

Just listen to how he sings "mistletoe before I arrive." He slows down slightly there, it seems, and sings that really tenderly. Added warmth.

****************************
A voice, a chime, a chant sublime, of peace on earth, good will to men.
