The very first reviews of "It's Christmas" are coming in. Let's hear what you think! Instant Christmas classic? Not quite as good as The Chipmunks? Weigh in with your opinion.
The links for purchase are available in the merchandise and audio sections. I'll add the link from Amazon when it becomes available.
Since Jill received hers we can safely assume it really available. I am not sure which place she ordered hers from, though. I chose the EMI site because the other had the wrong track-list, so that seemed weird to me.
I posted a little bit elsewhere. It's funny. When I listen to the song, it's clearly jon, but his voice sounds a little different. More controlled, less raw passion. That's why I called it polished on my other post. I'm guessing it's him playing acoustic guitar on the song. OK, I made myself transcribe the lyrics. No promises about the accuracy, though, as I am not very good at reading my own handwriting
Christmas Eve and your message machine I'm in mountains of snow and carols play on the radio. Yeah the road is longer than it was before. But now I've heard your voice and I need you more. A few more hours and miles to go Thank God I'm coming home.

Chorus: It's Christmas Save some love for me. It's Christmas You are Christmas to me.
Just to watch your eyes glow As we sit and laugh by the fire low.
It's Christmas, and I'm coming home ____________________________________
Now I've got an angel for the highest branch of the tree And I spoke with Santa Claus and he told me just what you need.
There'll be happiness enough to make you cry. Baby hang some mistletoe before I arrive.
Chorus
Put up the lights Spend time alone We can see all the crazy friends we used to know
Chorus
You're Christmas to me darlin' Now save some love for me. Now.....I'm comin home.
I ordered mine from EMI as well, but haven't got it yet. I chose the Pony Express shipping option. hehe. (the less expensive one)

Thanks Betts for the write up! It sounds like a hit to me! I look forward to getting it in the mail.

Now that's a sweet Christmas love song! Thank you so much for the lyrics, Jill! You know we were eager.
After reading those lyrics a few times, I suddenly noticed how he says "now" 4 times in the song. Two of those times are right at the end, at the start of the last two lines. Repeating it like that helps bring out his deep longing and the urgent need he feels to go home. Nicely poetic. The fact that it ties the song in with the title of the album doesn't hurt either. I wonder now if that was deliberate.
I also like the imagery of "I'm in mountains of snow." That is just a fresh way of saying that and seems to emphasize the obstacles he must conquer in order to reunite with his love.
One more great line for tonight: "There'll be happiness enough to make you cry." I am such a bawl baby when I am happy. Lots of women are. So that is just a great line to describe the joy of their reunion. Jill, is this song going to make me sob? You know I cry easily, right? Will I be blubbering before it is half way done? She is his angel. Awwwww.
