It was more like the Mikalah interview but I guess she did let Jon talk a couple times. Argh.

I think Mikalah was more recent to AI so they seemed more interested in her. Plus she hogged the interview. Sorry if that sounds mean. At least Jon was polite about it and didn't try to up-stage her, even though he IS the bigger star.

I am a little late responding on this thread, but I have been busy. I agree with everyone's wish that Mikalah would stop hogging the show. Someone should really tell her that she comes across as annoyingly self absorbed. I would feel that way even if Jon wasn't my big favorite.
But the thing that struck me in this interview is that Jon got up very early in the morning to be there at the station. Where were the others? Unless they were at other stations, they missed the boat. I think Jon's willingness to roll out of bed so early shows his devotion to his career. Does anyone know what the other idols were doing? This seemed like a really good station with the chance to sign autographs and everything. If they all had been invited here and just didn't show up, then they made a big mistake. Hats off to Jon for being serious and hard working. And for allowing his fans to glimpse him again.

Someone said the others were asleep because they only got there at 4 am and the station visit was at 6 am. Poor planning, IMO. Jon was there on time; I don't think he was taking the media exposure for granted (not that the others were). Likewise, during the summer tour he was one of the Idols who could be counted on to be there when he knew there were fans to see, and sometimes even broke with security to get to them.
Jon has a year of rigorous schedules and touring under his belt, and might be more of a pro because of that too. An Indiana show review (on IDF) reported an example of this. When security was ushering the special guests out of the show's autograph session area, Nikko, who I believe is new at the whole "celebrity" gig, gave the crowd an apologetic look and let security escort him past. The veteran Jon stayed as long as he could, and then was signing autographs as rapidly as possible, even as he was being pushed out the door. Now THAT is proper rockstar etiquette.
Thanks Iris for telling me that. And yes, Jon has braved torrential rains and lightening storms to please the fans. He does a great job. I think he is much more used to dealing with the media and the fans now a year later. He is seems to be naturally a people person, someone who instictively reaches out to people and is aware of them. Even in this interview, he was trying to fix his chair so that someone else could walk behind him. Then he just decided to stay standing up, as I recall. I can't get the thing to play anymore, but I thought that was a good move since we could see him better! LOL
Being successful in this business does involve proper planning and oodles of time, especially for someone just getting started. I am glad Jon got there early enough to get to the interview, but I suspect that even if he had gotten in at 4 a.m., he still would have been at that station.

She did make some funny comments. I took some of her "rudeness" as being a teenager and possibly being a little insecure being interviewed with someone a lot more popular & further along with his career than her. We shall see what she does the next time. I was irritated that he didn't get to talk more though.
Mikalah also didn't have much to say, really. I mean, she can't do much in her career right now. Though I seem to recall Jon, when he was at that point, already telling people he was writing music and would be putting out an album.
I think Jon may have talked a little more than was shown. The vid seemed heavily edited.
