This song sounds like a hit to me. This is exciting. A tip for all of you-- I often have to click on the song´s name several times before it will actually start to play. So if you are having trouble, try that. My family REALLY likes it, and they have been more lukewarm about Jon´s other songs. For myself, I probably still like Turn to Grey best of his released music since I love the poetic qualities of that song, but this new one is hard to get out of my head now. I wonder if the words are really quote: grateful for you.
I actually like being able to think of it in both ways, as grateful for you and great fool for you. I know this girl sure sounds like the type who deserves lots of gratitude for sticking with someone who goes away like this, even though he clearly has loved her and continues to love her dearly. And he probably is a great fool also for not sticking by her more. So I like seeing it both ways.

When I first heard it, I didn't like it. But I was listening on really bad, tinny computer speakers. And I was in a bad mood to boot. I finally got to hear it properly at home, with my headphones. It's really great! Sky is very talented (according to Jon's answer thread, Sky Elobar wrote most of the song). And it can go without saying that I love Jon's smooth vocals. All the instrumental components are really well placed too. Just all around a good song. I particularly like how, at the end of certain phrases, the vocal slips down a couple times. It's a cool effect.

I hadn't listened to "If I Go Away" on myspace for almost 2 days. I just listened again on myspace. Thanks Jon. It is wonderful and I love it. Whole heartedly and without any reservations. Muchas gracias. You are a wise and talented guy who will make great music and a great career too, and those two things are both difficult to do. Stellar music talent and intelligent business savvy don't often go together, but if anyone can posses both, you can. It takes humility and insight to be wise in making business decisions, but fortunately, you ain't no diva in the negative sense of that word, and you have all the personal qualities that will lead to success.

There are deep parts...like a Morrissey, or Smith sound. I might be misplacing my reference, but it reminds me of some one in parts in the beginning.
I keep listening to it. I like it more and more the more I listen. Similar theme to Turn to Grey. quote: If I ever wanted to go down, Go down with you. Like an autumn leaf that fades to brown,
I'd fall down with you. I said goodbye once before.
And if I go away, I'll be back again another day, another day. You will see me standing there, with your photograph in my hand.
I'm late but I'm still great, a great fool for you. Love is like a slow, surreal parade parade on Fifth Avenue. Watching the divas go by...
And if I go away, I'll be back again another day, another day. You will see me standing there, with your photograph in my hand.
But if I go away, I will think of you most every day most every day. Darlin' don't misunderstand...my heart is in your hand.
Isn't it a shame, isn't it a shame, all this time I've wasted playing the game. Oh what a shame...
Like an autumn leaf that fades to brown, I fall down with you.
But if I go away, I'll be back again another day, another day. You will see me standing there, with your photograph in my hand. If I go away, I will think of you most every day, most every day. Darlin' dont misunderstand...my heart is in your hand.
I got these the link next to the song on MySpace.

I've been so busy I've had no chance to add my two cents! Jon's voice on this song is just dreamy...I LOVE those low notes I also thought of Morrisey a bit, Gidget. Great lyrics too..."Love is like a slow surreal parade"...love it! Though, I have to admit, "I am late, but I'm still great..." may be the more fitting lyric for jon...

"I'm late, but I'm still great," is my favorite line, though all the lyrics are good.

The song has a catchy beat, and the lyrics are awesome. I also just like the overall effect that the song leaves. Another home run for Jon, i do believe.

Jon bravo....I truly believe you have a winner with your new single. The song sticks with you and your vocals are awesome. I like the cd cover too. You can be sure I will request this song often to our local radio stations. I hope you come to Portland, Oregon on your upcoming tour. Would be great to see you perform again in person. Carpe Diem.

Picture it: Your sitting outside in the warm sun, drinking your favorite drink, all while listening to your favorite radio station. Then, the DJ comes on and says, "And this next song is from Jon Peter Lewis!" And If I Go Away comes on. Wouldnt that be an awesome day? /\__/\ (>' '< ) (,,)(,,) Bob for world domination!

Ok, so how is it Jon is so unbelievably romantic and passionate with his songs, yet he is still single??????? Not that I'm complaining that he's single, but seems to me he could sweep a girl off her feet because he has some beautiful lyrics in a lot of his songs. TTG is kind of sad, but still beautiful...does that make sense?????
