Michelle is my age and went missing from UVM on Saturday around 2am. I know this is really weird, since none of you live around here, but it's being covered on national news. I was just watching the news and they were talking about how my town is extremely dangerous now. WHICH IS THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE. We have the lowest homocide rate in the country! I'm getting pretty mad about the media, but of course they're just doing what they do.
Anyway, I'm following this case very closely because it could've easily been any of my friends or classmates. Or even any of you. I"ll let you know if I find out any information that I'm ALLOWED to share with you. Most of the good details that I have now are police insider stuff........But it's pretty much a 90% chance that she's dead. And if she's not dead, she's gotta be locked up somewhere and not having a good time.
Very sad .. and scary that we have so many crazies out there. These things break my heart. She is someone's daughter, sister, friend, classmate, etc...

That's the site that is being updated every so often to let the media and public know what's going on. I hope it works. It's becoming more of a body recovery now than a rescue mission, it seems. Awful. Anyway, the police just set up a national media staging area in town so that leads us to believe that they might have something significant to announce. Yikes.

Our town is overrun with national news outlets. The Chief today flipped on Fox news because they were making us out to be ghetto and he was like "You don't understand! WE have the lowest crime rate in the country!"

They're also saying that if you find any of her clothing or her purse or anything not to touch it (it ruins the evidence that may be on it).....They have pics of her things that she wore on a website for everyone to see.
With this type of thing, the victim often knows the perpetrator. That's one reason why it's good to always let someone know where you're going and with whom. No need to be paranoid; just use common sense.
Jana, unfortunately the media often gets stuff wrong... especially the 24 hour news stations and the ones doing live coverage. They don't properly check their facts because they're in a rush.
Today the Forensics Team (CSI people) searched a house and woods right outside our town. Police aren't saying anything else unless something breaking happens (they have an emminent need to talk to someone or they find some of her belongings or her body, etc.) until tomorrow at 10am.
I just had a run-in with a cadaver dog looking for her body. My Aunt Diane says that she was probably strangled with her own jacket or something. They located a car that they were looking for and that person is no longer a suspect. They're also canvasing the areas surrounding the two college campus ' here that kind of mix together building-location wise. Lots of cops and helicopters and army guys but still no sign of Michelle! Poor thing.
I was going to go search in the woods with a few of my friends along with UVM students today but I didn't want to miss a class the day before out midterm. When my teacher found out that I didn't go she made me feel guilty for not skipping class!
They found her body along the road that leads to a dangerous waterhole about 10 miles outside of Burlington. The road she was found on is where my good friend lives.
This is horrible.
They also think that her belongings are in the cement that was recently found in someone's backyard. Press conference any minute.
Hopefully they took her quickly so she didn't have to suffer as much... but sometimes the things that people do to the body after they kill it are worse than how they took the life...
Yes, the guy that let her use his cell phone is the one that killer her. Apparently he went to his neighbor on Wednesday and said that he did something bad. In his booking photo, you can see scratches and cuts all over his neck and hands, so hopefully that's an indicator of a fight and Michelle had his DNA under her fingernails.
I hope that he killed her Saturday morning for her sake; Could you imagine being tortured for days? Horrid.
