The Hornets are going to play the Seventy-Sixers on Friday. I'm really excited about seeing Alan Iverson play, but am also thrilled with the fact that we are now 6 and 6. The team hadn't won three games before January last year, so this is a huge improvement. Woohoo!

We won again! Beat the Denver Nuggets last night, which makes us 7 - 7. Last year, the Hornets didn't win their third game until January 12. Thank you Wake Forest for Chris Paul!Smile

And again! Beat the Sixers last night by two points. Alan Iverson missed a three point buzzer beater that would have won the game, so we got lucky. But the crowd was electric, and we are now 8 and 7. Last year at this time the Hornets had won 2 games and lost 13. They're a scrappy little team, and so much fun to watch. I'm having such a great time at the games. I wish they wouldn't have to go back to New Orleans Sad But it's great while it lasts!

That's awesome! Sounds like a lot of fun! It's great they can improve their record like that in just one year.

W're playing the Grizzlies tonight, who've won five in a row. I don't know if they're due for a loss, but I hope so! Smile It should be a good game, regardless. It's hard for me, though, when the Hornets play old favorite teams of mine, but I'm still hoping for a win.

We beat the Suns! We beat the Suns! We had been on a five game losing streak, but last night was great! And we're hosting the Clippers on Wednesday. I can hardly waitFlower

I feel kind of like a broken record, but....we won again! We beat the Clippers, and it was a GREAT game. One of our youngsters got 6 threes, and a total of 26 points. Chris Paul, our rookie point guard out of Wake Forest, is truly amazing. It's such a fun year. I don't want them to go back to New Orleans, even though I know that's selfishSmile

Playing the Spurs tonight......they've won a ton of games this year, so it's going to be really hard to have a chance to win. But, even if we don't, I just hope the guys play hard. Hey Razz, where are you? I need you to talk basketball with meSmile

Thanks PaulaFlower It was an AMAZING game! The Hornets played so well, the crowd was so pumped and it was fun, fun, fun! And you won't believe it.....I'm a little embarrassed, actually....they put me up on the Big Screen with "Hornets Number One Fan" under my picture. Haha! I actually hate being on the screen, not being much of a ham at all. But I do like someone thinking I'm their biggest fanSmile I'm a little bit enthusiastic, but I never thought anyone noticed......

We beat the Heat too! And then lost to the worst team in the NBA. But our star point guard is injured, so perhaps we will again do well when he's back on the roster. The games have been SO fun, though, and our crowds have been so great that they've moved two games from Baton Rouge to Oklahoma City. I'm really excited.

I'm a little army of one here in the NBA forumSmile So, I'll just brag on my Hornets again. Last year, they didn't have their third win until January 11. This year, we've won our 16th game as of last night. And that's after a very hard stretch hosting the Heat (we won), the Spurs (we won) and the Mavs and Pistons (we lost). It's been great fun cheering this very young, and very hard working team on.

Thank you Paula, for saving me from talking to myself hereSmile!!! Last night was a big night for the Hornets. We beat the Grizzlies (5th in the NBA) to raise our W/L to 19/19. Last year we only won 18 games the whole season, so this is a dramatic improvement. We have the best crowds at our games.....they're loud and crazy, and the players love it. Last night a couple were dancing along with the crowd. (If we're winning, they always play Shout in the last two minutes).

I'm happy for former Zag, Ronny Turiaf. Just 6 months after open heart surgery, he is back playing for the Lakers. He was a second-round draft pick of the Lakers last June after averaging 15.9 points and 9.5 rebounds as a senior last season.

An enlarged aortic root was discovered by the Laker's physicial in a physical exam four weeks after the draft, and Turiaf underwent surgery July 26 to repair the aortic root and preserve his aortic valve.

He says there are "No worries" and feels comfortable there is no risk coming back this soon.

I do have to brag a little, because last night the Hornets beat the Lakers 106-90. We are now 24-22 and sitting securely (as secure as you can be barely past mid-season) in the 7th playoff spot in the Western Conference. This is a team that finished 18-64 last year. Not bad! We're almost sure to have the Rookie of the Year, Chris Paul (Wake Forest), but we also have very strong candidates for Most Improved (David West, Xavier), 6th Man of the Year (Speedy Claxton, Hofstra) and Coach of the Year (Byron Scott, Arizona State). Woohoo!

Here I am, in my little Paula and me threadSmile Razz, where the heck are you anyway? We've won four games in a row now and are 4 games over .500. If Memphis loses tonight, we're tied with them for the 6th spot in the playoffs! Woohoo!
