We've got an arena football league team here too, and I was thinking about getting tickets. Do you really like the game Pattie? They are so high scoring, which would make it exciting. Go Yard Dawgs? Doesn't sound right yet.
Hey! I thought we were on the same side, LOL! Have you gone to any Talon games? If so, are they fun? Still contemplating whether I want to try a game. Although I love sports so much that I've even been known to watch bowling on tv (shhhh.....don't tell anyone!) so how could I not enjoy it?

I love Arena Football. The rules are a little different but it is very exciting. It's really exciting live. You can't take your eyes off the field for 1 min. or you might miss something.

Yeah I've gone to a couple of their games. It was so much fun!...
Well, I think I will have to get tickets to a few of the Yard Dawgs games. I'm going to be suffering from big time football withdrawal once the Super Bowl is over, and I'm having trouble getting into basketball. I was a big Mavericks fan, and then they let Stevie Nash get away......he was my favorite player....so I'm having trouble adjusting to the team without him. And he's with the Suns now, who have never interested me. Sigh.
This is one reason why I got interested in Arena Football and the Philly Soul:
Rocker JON BON JOVI insists on a "no thug policy" for the ARENA FOOTBALL LEAGUE team he co-owns and has sacked top players for being unruly.
The BON JOVI frontman, who co-owns the PHILADELPHIA SOUL indoor American football team, believes there are too many bad role models playing sport in the US and he expects his players to be model citizens.
He says, "I look at these guys and I want a winner on the field, but, more importantly, off the field because if we don't make our presence felt in the community and really endear ourselves to those people, I'd be going to a (Philadelphia) EAGLES game.
"I think we can be difference makers. So, if a guy wants to play a thug and jump into the stands and start a fight, he might as well keep on going up the stairs because you're gone.
"I did what I said I would do - I got rid of some of our premier players."

In case anybody is interested, the Soul got killed by Dallas on Sunday (hey Beach, don't smile too much). It was the worse defeat we have suffered ever. I just read that they fired to coach today.

No really, I'm not smiling... I like Bon Jovi. And they beat our Austin Wranglers anyway. I don't really have an attachment to any team yet really. I do have tickets for a game ... but can't remember which one.
Finally, the Soul won today. They beat Tampa Bay Storm 69 to 63. And what a wild game that was. The score was back and forth all day. I don't have a voice left after this one.

Hey Betts...how did your team do. We lost on Sunday with 1 second to go in the game. Man was that hearbreaking. I had a close encounter of the Jon Bon Jovi kind though. Before the game started he was down on the floor signing autographs. I have a couple already but I really wanted a close picture of him so I ran over to where he was and stood on the second step up from the field and he stopped right in front of me but I couldn't remember how to turn on the camera. I stood there staring at him. He looked so good I was frozen in my spot. I can't believe that and at my age.

We won! I'm going to get tickets for this weekend and go to my first ever game. I'm really excited, and this will help with my sports deficit, since I'm not a big MLB fan.
I suspect I won't have a Bon Jovi encounter though. I wonder if Toby Keith is a Yard Dawgz fan? He is a big Sooners fan, and sometimes see him at the basketball games. I probably would have been frozen too, Pattie, and that's because, to quote Bruce Willis, "Everyone's brain is stuck at 25."
