George A. Paul, a writer who covers music for the Ontario, CA Daily Bulletin, attended Jon's Borders performance in Riverside, CA. Read Mr. Paul's positive review of Jon's music and of this show, which included songs from Jon's debut album Stories From Hollywood.
This is a good quote from the review:
"Ranging from alternative rock to pop to soul, 'Hollywood' is one of the stronger efforts to emerge from a male AI castoff. Lewis co-wrote four of the songs. Highlights include 'Gypsy Queen,' lighthearted singalong 'Rodeo,' 'Boy Next Door' and 'Amanda Grace.'"
**************************** A voice, a chime, a chant sublime, of peace on earth, good will to men.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass.. It's about learning to dance in the rain."
But because he goes on to say that 'Rodeo' was a lighthearted singalong, that probably wasn't the song that was "unsuitable" for younger ears. Which means whatever song it was (maybe the unknown Stripper song?) must be pretty bad.
Always nice to see a good review. And jon unplugged would be great fun, although I suspect the reviewer would be really impressed with the band as well.
