I'm starting a new thread for this interview because some people may miss it unless we have a new thread that will show up on the community news page. And you don't want to miss this since apparently it is an outstanding interview!

J.D. Matthews, host of the "Top 20 Countdown Show" on Idol Waves Radio and writer of the widely read "Musical Ramblings" blog, will feature an interview with Jon and songs from Jon's album on the show. You don't have to sign up for live365 to listen at that link to Idol Waves Radio.

So be sure to tune in at the following approximate times, starting soon tonight and continuing off and on throughout the day Tuesday. In the past, I have heard the first broadcast of the "Countdown Show" start as early as 1:00 a.m. Eastern, so your best bet is to tune in early and check if the show is perhaps airing then. In addition to the times below, I've also heard the show air at about 7:30 p.m. Eastern.

Eastern-- 4:00 a. m., 11:30 a.m., 3:30 p.m., 9:00 p.m.
Central--3:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m., 8:00 p.m.
Mountain--2:00 p.m., 9:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 7:00 p.m.
Pacific--1:00 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 6:00 p.m.

In addition, J.D. will get the interview posted on "Musical Ramblings." Right now, you can go there to check out the terrific write-up he has about the interview.

"Gypsy Queen" is at number 17. They played that song and then they played "If I Go Away" and mentioned it has been a huge hit on Idol Waves. I may have to stay awake past my normal bedtime to hear.

Priscilla, you are making me grin ear to ear! "Auditory Nirvana!!!!!!!!!!!" And you said it about my favorite of Jon's songs, "Turn to Grey." That phrase will now go down in JPL lore, to be repeated again and again at appropriate times. Was that something you came up with Priscilla, or does J.D write all the copy for the show. In any case, I just loved your tone as you said it. You had a grin in your voice. Flower I need to get the exact quote, since it was awesome, but it was something about "It's kind of nice to have [Jon's song] instead of one of those crappy [songs we ususally play for the flashback]." Auditory Nirvana. That is a perfect description of "Turn To Grey."

That line you were looking for was:

"That auditory nirvana you just heard was Jon Peter Lewis and 'Turn to Grey.'"

That was a great line! So who wrote it? You or Mrs. JD? And .. is Mrs. JD a member here?

I commented on your show in another thread JD and wanted to also say something here. It was an excellent show and of course I really enjoyed all the Jon songs and especially the interview at the end. I'm listening to it again right now!

Cool

You missed some talk Gidget about how they will be featuring Jon. I actually liked 2 lines Priscilla said. The one about Nirvana, and then one about the crappy songs they usually play for the Flashback. LOL I was asking about the "crappy" line since they usually they play some embarrassing thing Randy produced or Simon had a hand in. I seem to remember some boy band in that Simon worked with. That was plenty fun. Haha. I have to run out, so won't be around to catch the "crappy" line. And I had a phone call at that part when the show aired at 11:30.

I did catch Priscilla's line....very nice touch! It's so weird to hear his name so much during your show. Neat though. And hey, thanks for not calling him JPL the entire time. Thumb

The "Countdown Show" is airing again right now. Another thing I liked about the interview is how Jon says one of the advantages of being an indie artist is that he gets to keep $10 from every album sold, whereas someone like Taylor who is with a label gets 10 cents. I have no idea if Jon was exaggerating for effect or not, but I am sure people with a label truly do get a small percentage of the price of each album. It is interesting to me to learn things like this. I have been so edumacated in music over the past few years. Wink
