More interviews for Thursday, March 23 are also posted now. I'll post this here for now since these are just coming fast and furious, and I hope people see this thread and catch the streaming interview on Wednesday morning. But 2 more streaming interviews are coming on Thursday: "Thursday, 3/23: JPL radio interviews - Hear or stream Jon on AM920 - CKNX with Phil Main out of Midwestern Ontario. - Hear or stream Jon on the Z104 Morning Zoo out of Virginia Beach, VI (register to stream) - Norwich, CT - WICH 1310"
It might be wise to register ahead of time for the Virginia Beach station since that takes some time. Their "Morning Zoo" show is on from 5:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Eastern on Thursday. More info on the Phil Main interview is on the other thread for that station. Check the community news page for links to these stations.

That was a really good interview. The host let Jon talk lots and didn't try to upstage him--kudos to Roy Green of CHML. Jon does well when people just wind him up and let him go. What I really liked was that they fed into the show by playing "Stories From Hollywood" and said, "That is the voice of Jon Peter Lewis, you'll remember him from American Idol. Simon said he was the dark horse to win." I like hearing Jon's music on the radio. Here is a very rough idea of what was said-- Roy Green: [referring to his own show] 33 million people are listening to you Jon: wow Roy: and all buying your CD Jon: Excellent Then Roy asked something about the CD and Jon said, roughly, that the record isn't completed yet. He said something about "most likely" and then that it would be done "in a couple of months for sure." I think he was asked about where it would be available. He said, "For sure on my website and hopefully in Walmart. We're working with distributors now."
Jon said Simon was decent and genuinely concerned about him and would say, "Hello, how are you?" Jon asserted that if Simon's reputation was accurate, he wouldn't be doing that. Jon mentioned that Simon comes at it from the "perspective of an A & R guy" and gives his opinions on how the singers will "play out" from that perspective.
Next, Jon talked about the AI being a "whirlwind" and how he got "caught up in it" and "plucked out of college." I really enjoyed that comment. Jon himself is like some sort of whirling vortex that pulls people in. Jon continued by discussing how one week he would be singing with Elton John, and another with Barry Manilow and then he'd be with Quintin Tarrantino (sp?). He said it was difficult to "bridge this gap" [between being in college and suddenly being with all these stars] and he said, "It's weird."
He was pretty honest about his feeling on all this though and on Hollywood. I didn't catch the exact question, but he said, "I was a little disillusioned." He confessed that after the first taping, he was sitting back thinking, "That's it? That's what I was getting worked up about?" Then he mentioned that it is all "smoke and mirrors."
I was interested to learn that when the Beatles' song "Love Me Do" was number one on the charts, the Markettes, the group his Dad was with, had the number 3 hit, "Out of Limits."
Roy asked how Jon came to be known as the "pen salesman." Jon said that he had come to Hawaii to audition, but didn't know that the auditions were a multi-day event. So he had brought shorts and t-shirts and one set of audition clothes. Then they told him that they wanted him to come back another day and needed him to dress up. So the only other thing he had was his Church clothes.
Jon was great to mention the website. He said, "That is where I keep my updates." He mentioned that he had merchandise there and might be selling hot sauce. I think the host totally missed why that is funny. Jon then said that he thinks all this year's contestants are great and that they have depth and personality. He noted that there were "definitely characters" among them, "not like last year."
The host closed the show by playing "turn to grey." He played a decent snippet of it and kept it going even while doing some news. So all in all, a perfect interview.
