The folks at "Idol Chat" had so much fun with Jon last month that they invited him back for another guest appearance! Kimberly and Rosana will host the episode from the "American Idol" studio on Tuesday, March 14th, just an hour before the top 12 contestants take the stage.
Double-check your local listings, but the show is scheduled to air at 7pm, an hour before American Idol. And yes, you may spot Jon in the American Idol audience that night, so keep an eye out for him!
Yeah! It will be fun to see him on Idol Chat again. I'd rather see him on the stage at American Idol, but I'll settle for a glimpse of him in the audience.

Thanks for the heads up. I hope Jon gets a long segment on "Idol Chat" since it will be an hour show, and I can't think of anybody who would be more entertaining to fill that hour. I also hope he will spill some kind of beans and give us some information that we haven't heard yet. And I would most certainly love to hear him sing again, even if it is just some tiny snippet he conveniently throws into the conversation. That was brilliant last time when he picked up his guitar and sang.
One last dream here. This one may be too much to dream for, but I really want American Idol to identify him some way when he is in the audience. When Bo was in the audience recently, they showed him and put up his printed name on the screen. I am so petty--I felt a twinge of jealousy! Hahaha. Sometimes in the past, Ryan has acknowledged and spoken to a former finalist in the audience. But lately, it seems, they have just shown Jon or other former finalists without identifying them at all, and that seems quite wrong to me. What are the chances the AI folks will be smart enough to identify Jon if he is there this time? I hope maybe they have wised up this year.

I wonder if they have some criteria for acknowledging them on Idol. Bo was in the final 2 .. I know they have acknowledged others over the years and of course have asked some of them to perform on the show. Can anyone name some of the past finalists they have had on Idol that weren't the winner and how they placed? I know they had Tamyra on the show and as a guest on the tour .. and she was 4th, right?

They only ask the people on that they want to promote IMO... I mean they have had all of the winners back... They have had Tamyra (who finished fourth, but trust me they would never have Nikki on as a guest eventhough she finished third the first season)... They have had Clay, Bo, (And Kim Locke I think) and that one guy from Australia Idol... But as far as I know they have never had anyone who has placed lower than fourth...
The name of this show has been changed to Idol Tonight. Looks as if Jon will appear on the debuts of two new television shows in one week. I think that is pretty impressive, personally. I guess Jon will already be right in the studio where they film Tuesday's show, so that makes it easy to also attend the taping of AI that follows Idol Tonight. Here is part of the announcement that was up on KIMBERLY CALDWELL'S SITE
"Idol Chat is going to be in a new format beginning this week and will now be known as Idol Tonight. The show will still air at its usual time (7/6pm central on Tuesdays) but it now will be live from the CBS studios where American Idol is filmed."
"LOS ANGELES - Just like the Academy Awards, "American Idol" now merits its own pre-show. . . .
"Idol Tonight" will feature appearances by ejected contestants and past "Idol" stars, plus interviews with vocal coaches, casting agents and industry insiders. Exclusive footage, including auditions, outtakes and post-performance confessions, will also be shown. . . ."
This show is supposed to give the red carpet vibe too.

Kristin from Kim's site has let us know that she will be posting up the video again. She also has indicated that Idol Tonight will repeat at 9 Eastern/8 central that same night and then again at 1 Eastern/12 p.m. central and 6 Eastern/5 p.m. central the next day (Weds.) Thanks very much Kristin!
On the American Idol General area, some people have been giving some good advice about both these shows Jon will be on. Here is the LINK
One person pointed out that if you go to the FOX REALITY HOMEPAGE and scroll to the very bottom, right hand side, you see a place to click to answer the question "Do you get Fox Reality?" Another person indicated that Fox Reality is channel 102 on Dish Network. That is all useful for Thursday night's Show, but I am posting it here for now since it is better to keep this thread bumped up until after "Idol Tonight" airs.

This tvguide show is on right now. When they asked him to dance, the crowd behind them gave a HUUUGGGEEE cheer! He was in like the first two segments so far, but now someone else started commenting on the singers instead of him.

Jon said the album will be out in the next couple months. And then there is a segment I need to transcribe later to give you the context, but Jon said, "endearing." Great word Jon! He was wearing a red shirt with some design splashed on it that I didn't recognize.
