Welcome JD! Great to see you. YOU are the quick one. LOL Either you got up bright and early at something like 7:30 a.m. your time and read my email inviting you come over, or you were up all night excited about your show's debut and checked your email before crashing into bed. Which was it? Thanks for the great lead in words for "If I Go Away" today and thanks for coming by to verify the times.
Folks who would like to know more about JD can go to his website, which I provided the link for earlier, and to his MYSPACE. On the show today, he mentioned that he has written for Reality TV Magazine.
For those who missed the show, I will do a semi-transcript, more like a paraphrase, of what JD said today about Jon. JD has clearly been doing his homework and reading Jon's recent publicity releases. Since Jon's song was going to be coming up after a break, JD gave this teaser: "Find out which of our artists was convinced to make a full album after your response to a new single." After the break, JD gave this nice set up for "If I Go Away": "Our next artist was planning to release only an EP but the response to his current release was so overwhelming that Jon Peter Lewis is going forward and recording a full album. Here's the single that generated that response, 'If I Go Away.'"
My apologies to JD for the errors in that transcript. But thanks for giving Jon's song such a nice set up. Will your show only be running on Tuesdays?

IIGA is playing now. Remember that you have time to log in and you still can vote for several minutes after the song stops playing, as long as it appears on the player

If you go to JD's MySpace, the top 20 plays. So if you missed it, check it out there.

You know .. with all her AI CDs, BnL could start her own radio show too...

"If I Go Away" climbed to #14 for the week ending Sept. 1. I truly believe that when people get a chance to hear Jon's music like this, they will end up thinking it is great. Thanks go to JD Matthews and also to Disc Jockey Kenndawg for providing the station and putting Jon into the rotation.
I also appreciate those of you who have been supporting this station by tuning in and then also supporting Jon by giving him several thumbs up while you listen. Keep up the great work those who might be voting. And to those of you who aren't yet listening and voting, come join in the fun.
As a reminder, listen HERE and then you can give "If I Go Away" some thumbs ups on the player as long as you still see the song listed, in other words, all the time IIGA plays as well as the following 2 songs or ads.

I've been cleaning house and listening to this station for over an hour and NO JON!! Lots of Josh Gracin, so that's good. Kelly a few times, some Carrie, but no Jon. *sigh*

Jasmine's US album was really bad hip hoppyish - I'm surprised that you'd like it if that was one of the sogns you listened to. Jasmine really needed to stick to the stuff she sounded great at : (

Originally posted by artslvr: I discovered that Idol Waves Radio will apparently do something new now. A guy named J. D. Matthews will be doing a show 4 times today where he will play the top 20 songs of the previous week. Read about it HERE. The show will air at 10:00 a.m. Central. I am not sure if the other times listed are Eastern or Central, but I will assume they are listed as Central, so the other times 2:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 2 a.m. Central. Since I came in on this show when he was on number 8, I missed hearing if he actually did play "If I Go Away," but all the other songs have followed the current chart precisely. I assume he played Jon early in the show.
So anyone who wants to hear Jon can tune in. Unfortunately, I don't believe people can vote for IIGA during this show. It will still be fun to hear Jon come on the radio, however. These times may change, but this looks like the plan, at least.
I am tired, so if I got these wrong, someone please tell me. Jon should be on in the first part of the show since he is at number 17 right now. So only three songs will play before him and maybe some other misc. stuff. If this show really does play 4 times a day, it will be a great vehicle for exposing new people to Jon's music. There is value in listening at other times and voting so Jon can stay in the top 20.
I'm wondering, is this the same J.D. that interviewd William Makar not too long ago? If so, I'v been to his site-but I don't remember the name of his site-I got there from a link on one of Will's fansites. I loved the interview he did with Will though; it was really great! He really liked Will, I could tell. This J.D. is a big AI fan and Will likes his site and recommeds it because it has a lot of Idol related stuff on it. I didn't get a chance to browse the whole site, I only read the interview he did on Will. Well, it's great to know he's spinning Jon's music (if this is the same person I'm thinking of.) Because interestingly enough. He had a lot of AI contestants names listed on his site. Since I printed the interview he did with Will. I was able to read all the names. Interestingly, I noticed Jon's name wasn't listed; Will's name was last, they were listed by first names. Not all contestants name were listed. I believe Jasmine Trias' name was there-I wonder how he went about making up that list!
I've probably totally confused some people; I guess you have to go to the site to understand what I'm saying! Jon Rules!
Two of the last 3 songs was "Miracles" by George Huff. Why did they play it if they just played it 2 songs ago?

I think they are playing "If I Go Away" more now that people are voting so much for it. Wishlisting it also helps, I believe. Click on the plus sign next to the thumbs up.
JonIsLife, I am guessing that J.D. is the same person. He does a bunch with American Idol. I posted his website up before, but I will put it here again. http://jdmatthews.blogspot.com/ Paula, I haven't seen any pattern to when "If I Go Away" plays, have you or anyone else? It seems to come after a new song every time. I did read on the IdolWaves forum that sometimes songs will get bunched up and play in quick succession. I think the station revises their playlist often, so such gliches happen.
Since I like efficiency, I figured out that the best way to vote for "If I Go Away" is to move the player so that the thumbs up will be right under the "OK" button that pops up. Just click and hold on the top blue bar on the player where it says "Live 365 Player Window." Then you can drag the player wherever you want. (Most of you already know how to move your windows around on the screen, but some folks don't know how.) That way, you can vote for the song several times without moving the cursor. Just click thumbs up, click the "OK" button when it comes up, wait for the green bars to refresh at the bottom of the player next to where it says "javascript," then vote again. If you vote too quickly without letting the player refresh with its green bars, I think the votes may not count and you may end up voting for the new song that is playing when you think you are voting for Jon's song.

Good idea arts. And yes, I clicked the wishlist a few times too.

Yes, I'm the same J.D. Matthews that interviewed Will Makar (and Mikalah Gordon, and Stevie Scott, and Lindsey Cardinale, and Jessica Sierra, and many others) and I appreciate that you all enjoyed the interviews!!
Actually Will recorded a liner for me today (which you can hear at my site or my Myspace.)
Jon Peter Lewis's song is indeed on the show today, and it has climbed higher this week. Check it out. It will air four times on Idol Waves today, and after today, you should be able to hear the archived podcast on my site and Myspace!
That's great!! I'll have to try to remember to listen. Hopefully Boss will be busy so I can.
Thanks for coming by JD. We appreciate it.
