Once you become a member, you can give “If I Go Away” a thumbs up rating to help improve its ranking. Although you can vote for a song as long as it appears on the player, apparently only one vote per computer will count each time the song plays.
I will try to alert folks when the song is playing so that you can listen in and vote for it. I heard it at about 9:10 a.m. Eastern this morning, though I don't know if there is a pattern to when a song plays.
You might also be interested in the HOMEPAGE for Idol Waves Radio. Their site has a forum, and when I get a chance, I will join there and start a thread about "If I Go Away."
People genuinely like this song from Jon. Not just some people. Lots of people. Cool people. People who know what they are talking about.
On most every Tuesday, J.D. Matthews does a Top 20 Countdown show on Idol Waves. The show is entertaining. Tune in at approximately the following times: Eastern-- 1:00 a. m., 11:30 a.m., 3:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m. Central--12:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. Mountain--11:00 p.m., 9:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. Pacific--10:00 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m.

Thanks Gidget for saying you will vote for Jon. I would just like to see him climb in that chart. Good publicity for him and the album.
I was in the living room talking to my husband when the song came on this time. It took me a minute to register what I was hearing coming from this room. This is the second time I have heard the song come on after Mandissa's song called "I Will Survive." I haven't had sense enough to look at what was the song before that, but if you hear Mandissa, Jon may be next. It has been fun to listen to this station and hear what the other people from American Idol have been doing. For instance, did you know that Elliot Yamin sings on a Christian rap song called "Sound Doctrine"? It was noteworthy since I believe Elliot is Jewish, yet there he is singing, "He gave his life for me, yes he did." I have also been able to hear stuff from Kelly Clarkson that I don't usually hear. Also Bucky sings "Superstition," which took me off guard. More character acting from a singer, I guess.

"If I Go Away" is on once again. Not many of all of you are on the forum right now, but just in case someone wants to vote, you can do it now for sevearl minutes. I think I will stop alerting folks now unless someone tells me it is useful to you. Unfortunately, I wasn't paying attention again to know what comes before Mandissa.

I've heard of "Idol Waves Radio," but haven't been to the sight yet. I'd have to be there at the right time to hear when Jon song's come on. I'm not surprised people like it-all sorts of people-it's a great song! And "Man Like Me," is too! Have you heard all of that yet? I wanted to comment on what you said about Elliott singing on a Christian song, being most likely he's Jewish. They're are some Jews who are Christian, I've seen a few! That sounds like a pretty good station; would love to check it out sometimes!
"If I Go Away" has risen on this CHART to #17 for the week ending Sept 1, so that is a good bump up considering we only knew about this for at most 2 and a half days out of that week of airplay. Clearly, between some of us voting for the song and other people voting too, the song has done well.
So although I realize that Jon's ranking on this particular chart may not be extremely important in the grand scheme of things, I nevertheless feel obligated to try this little experiment for another week. It is like rooting for my home football team to come from the underdog position. So for another week, I will continue to try to alert people when Jon's song plays. I know there may be lurkers out there who will want to vote.
Flooding a station based in a certain city with requests for a certain song can actually turn the station against the artist, so I would not advocate people requesting the song from a station that they can't even listen to since they don't live in that city. But this is different since it helps this station to have us listening to it. And it is an internet station that most of us would enjoy and continue listening to.
This time the song came on immediately after Bucky Covington singing, of all things, "Superstition." LOL Jon did such an amazing job on that song at the AI concert. Right now, for some reason, my player is stuck showing Jon's song and the two before it. Ah well, far be it from ME to take advantage of such a situation. . .

I discovered that Idol Waves Radio will apparently do something new now. A guy named J. D. Matthews will be doing a show 4 times today where he will play the top 20 songs of the previous week. Read about it HERE. The show will air at 10:00 a.m. Central. I am not sure if the other times listed are Eastern or Central, but I will assume they are listed as Central, so the other times 2:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 2 a.m. Central. Since I came in on this show when he was on number 8, I missed hearing if he actually did play "If I Go Away," but all the other songs have followed the current chart precisely. I assume he played Jon early in the show.
So anyone who wants to hear Jon can tune in. Unfortunately, I don't believe people can vote for IIGA during this show. It will still be fun to hear Jon come on the radio, however. These times may change, but this looks like the plan, at least.
I am tired, so if I got these wrong, someone please tell me. Jon should be on in the first part of the show since he is at number 17 right now. So only three songs will play before him and maybe some other misc. stuff. If this show really does play 4 times a day, it will be a great vehicle for exposing new people to Jon's music. There is value in listening at other times and voting so Jon can stay in the top 20.

You're correct about the those times listed being Central. And those other times you listed are correct. I appreciate the response, especially so quickly after the show premiered! I hope the rest of you catch the show when it airs later on today.
JPL was indeed at the number 17 slot.
Votes are tallied by listener stats and the number of requests for a given song. So if you'd like to see it chart higher, you can send requests for the song to Idol Waves.
Thanks again for letting me know you're out there. I'll try to visit again soon!
