Since these interviews continue to pour in, sometimes with less than a day's notice, I am starting this thread to discuss any and all interviews. Otherwise, there will be too many threads. As news gets posted, I will try to update this first post of the thread. The title of the thread may change each day to reflect what is coming up soon.
Please feel free to point out to me any errors or omissions in anything I say, since as fast as these are popping up, I am bound to overlook something. The goal here is to make it easy for all Jon's fans to hear and/or hear about the interviews and to discuss the interviews.

I am listening to KKOB now and they just mentioned that a former finalist will be coming on "later." So judging from how long their site says this show will be on, that would mean that Jon should be on sometime between now and 11 a.m. Eastern. They seem to be saying Jon will be on a segment that allows listeners to ask a question of the guest.
Here is what they say about this "Ask-a-Thursday" feature. If I find out more, I will let you know:
"Ask-a-Thursday's Every Thursday morning, John and Rebecca bring in somebody you have questions for. . . . We'll get your questions answered here on Ask-a-Thursday!
Want to ask a specific question? SUBMIT a suggestion for Ask-a-Thursday!"

They are saying that Jon will be on in a about an hour. So that would be around 9:25 Eastern. And they are in fact saying that people can call in with questions. I will let you know a number as soon as I verify one.

I can give some quick highlights. I have had a very busy and happy day and my hand is sore from trying to act like a 19 year old California girl, so I am trying to get to bed early. One good thing I THINK I heard Jon say is that he is hoping to announce show dates in about 2 weeks. I will forgive him if he doesn't manage to do that, but I would like to start planning my summer. He did mention summer for the tour.
When asked about his musical influences, he said, "Beatles, The Police, Van Morrison, Elliot Smith, and Ben Folds." He went on a bit about how good Coldplay is. I am kind of a hard sell on newer groups, but when my daughter came home with Coldplay, I liked them.
Jon also said that the group "song and dance" numbers on AI were "horrible." I agree that they weren't like high art or even high pop, LOL, but I always thought they were fun. Jon managed to make them more interesting to me because it was fun to watch his facial expressions and dance moves. And of course, any time they let him sing a solo line or two was a real bright spot, and I would be left mad that they didn't let him sing more solo.
Another highlight of today's interviews, for me at least, was when one of the hosts mentioned that Jon had a reputation for being a risk taker. Jon acknowledged that was true and said that since then, everyone has done the kind of things he did. Then I like this quote that I recorded in a semi-accurate way. He talked about how AI is "not really a great musical experience." Then he discussed what being a success meant. He asserted that it's about "how unique you are and what you contribute to the culture." That is a pretty profound statement coming from an American Idol guy in a morning interview. Who'd expect to hear anything at all thoughtful coming out of such a scenario? And that's what makes Jon unusually exciting--he DOES have a unique contribution to make to culture. There is more to report, but my hand is aching now.
Paula, I wasn't sure I would bother to recap this all tonight, but since you asked for it, and since I know that you have many times sacrificed for others, I decided to give you some idea of what the interviews entailed. I missed some things, but maybe someone else who heard them can help out.

Thanks so much arts! I appreciate your efforts and enjoyed reading your recap.
I liked this part, "it's about 'how unique you are' "
That is why my AI screen name was JPLisUnique, lol...
What happened to your hand? Sorry if I missed something.

I went to the WBIG website, and thought I ought to report what is there for those who don't want to bother to look at their site. My guess is that today's interview will on one of these shows:
"8:00 AM - 9:00 AM People to People Interviews and talk with host Paul Morgan 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM Your Turn Open forum call-in and talk hosted by Paul Morgan "
That is central time. I think the most likely choice is the first show, so that would put Jon on WBIG between 9 and 10 Eastern this morning.

WBIG just announced they will interview Jon in this half hour. It appears to be a show you can call in and ask questions on. So don't be shy, call in. They won't really care if you don't live right there.

Awww. All these early morning interviews might be taking a toll on Jon. He sounds sick. He is sniffling. Jon! I am old and wise. Take your vitamins every day. And get some orange juice and chicken soup. And put humidity in the house. Boil water on the stove and set the timer so you don't boil it dry and burn down the house.
I can't tell they are taking calls for Jon, but they did for other guy they had on
