Jon Peter Lewis, the first singer to bring rock 'n' soul to "American Idol," is joining forces with the independent roots rock label Authentic Records. Jon will promote his debut record, Stories From Hollywood on tours with veteran Authentic artists such as the Nadas and the Josh Davis Band. "I'm a big fan of the Authentic roster and I can't wait to get out and meet their fans," Lewis said. "It's really a good fit and I look forward to a great relationship." "We are thrilled to be working with Jon," Authentic co-founder Jason Walsmith added. "Honestly, I never even saw him on 'American Idol' I just heard his record and loved his voice and his songwriting." Stay tuned for Jon's complete tour schedule.

I think they both are very good and I liked their songs.
P.S. Both of them list a tour schedule with some dates/places in common. Looks like they tour together and separately.

Check the Authentic Records site again today because today they posted their announcement about Jon joining them. You will find some further information and a new photo of Jon.
When I first glanced at this photo, I thought the thing he was halfway hiding behind was the curved back of a big chair. But after I had read the announcement, I looked more closely and realized it is his guitar. It's a very well done picture.

That is an awesome picture! And kudos to Arts for always being able to spot the Hummingbird!

Great job finding that, super sleuth Gidget. I'm really happy for you and all Jon's fans in Florida that he is finally making it back there. By clicking around, I was able to find a page that seemed to say the photographer for that photo of Jon hiding behind his guitar is Stuart Johnson. Does that name ring a bell for y'all? I'll wait a minute while you think. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .I'm still waiting. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . .I'm still waiting. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .I'm still waiting aroooouuuuunnnnnddddd. . . . Stuart Johnson is the writer of "Man Like Me" and is a member of the group Simon Dawes, I believe. I really like that song, and if he in fact took this picture of Jon, I'm much impressed by his skillz. AND, you know how I like to make connections and add up the dots, so I'll go ahead with further speculation, since it is ever so fun. The photo that goes with this PR release has Jon beside the ocean with his guitar. I'm guessing whoever took this new photo also took the by-the-sea photos that are on Jon's myspace. Those were exceptional photos too. So to whomever the photographer is, bravo. You have a real eye for composition.
