3. Jon Performing for the Northwest Missiouri Children's Advocacy Center
Jon will be joining Kimberly Caldwell, Lindsay Cardinale, Mikalah Gordon along with other performers for this very worthwhile event benefiting the Northwest Missouri Children's Advocacy Center. The Children's Advocacy Center helps abused children.
Also, here is a nice quote from Kimberly Caldwell about this event. The article is from The Bakersfield Californian. The author is Eric Loyd:

"The Bakersfield Californian: Do you know either of our local "Idol" celebrities, Amy Adams or Jon Peter Lewis?

Kimberly Caldwell: Oh yeah, Jon Peter Lewis is a good, good friend of mine, actually. I've met Amy a couple of times, but Jon's a good friend of mine. We actually have an event in January that we're doing together, a charity event for abused and neglected children."

Since the details are unclear on this right now, I am just going to post this here in case I am wrong. In Jon's recent MySpace newsletter, there is a mention of Jon being in the L.A. Holiday Celebration. The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion sounds like a great venue, since according to one site, the show attracts 6,000 people. Here is one site that seems to have some details of this show: http://www.lacountyarts.org/holiday.html

Here is what they say:
"Since 1964 the Commission has produced a Holiday Celebration in the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion of the Music Center on December 24th. The program honors the spirit of many cultures and holiday traditions through music, song and dance.

Community and professional choirs, music ensembles, folk and traditional artists, and dance companies perform for an audience in the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion while the program is broadcast live throughout Southern and Central California on KCET.

Attendance and parking are free. No reservations or tickets are necessary. Doors open at 2:30pm. Seating is first come, first served. Attendees can arrive at any time and stay as long as they wish.
Since 2002 the Commission has produced a one-hour television special of selected Holiday Celebration performances for national broadcast by PBS."

OK. So that sounds as if it is a live broadcast. But then the Utah PBS station also seems to be broadcasting a one hour version of this several times in the upcoming 2 weeks, starting this Thursday, Dec. 14. I bet they air selected performances from the previous year's episode, though they say it is the 2006 show. So that is confusing. http://www.kued.org/whatson/series.cgi?nola1=LACC

I think the whole show is broadcast live in the L.A./Southern CA area, and then maybe the following year they send out the one hour condensed version to PBS stations nationwide. If Jon is in this, I hope he gets into the version that goes out across the nation, though he may not be culturally diversified enough to qualify for that.

When the official details are clear, then they will go up on the community page of this site, but folks may want to check your local PBS stations and see if they are listing this show this week. Might be worth checking out, even if ends up being last year's show.
