Jon has been invited to be a presenter for the 2006 New Music Weekly Awards Show. The New Music Awards represent the "pinnacle of achievement for all music artists; musicians, radio programmers, music directors, radio stations, and industry executives who work in America's most popular music genre." This year's annual event will take place on November 18th, at the Avalon Theater in Hollywood.

That is wonderful! Here is some more information about this awards show and Jon's participation from a different page at the same website--http://www.newmusicweekly.com/news2.php?a=239 Looks as if Carmen Rasmusen is supposed to be the host of the whole show. Too bad this is not on television.

This event was Saturday night. Any word from it? Does anyone know what award he presented? I noticed the site has the winners posted. http://www.newmusicweekly.com/nmwawards.php#

Jon did a stellar job presenting for the New Music awards show. He closed out the show, presenting the last few categories; The AC Breakthrough Artist of the Year, the Country Male Artist of the Year, the AC Female Artist of the Year, and the AC Single of the Year. When Jon walked out onto the stage, his song, "Boy Next Door" was playing. He was very funny, charming, and a big hit!
Thank you Judy! I had been wondering how it went. I am especially happy that all the audience got to hear his music.
So the job of presenting for this awards show sounds like a much bigger job than presenting for a show like the Academy Awards. Seems as if on many of the other awards shows, presenters just joke for 30 seconds, read a list of nominees for one award, then sit down. It is great that Jon got so much time on stage and had so much to do. This was excellent exposure for him.

Thanks for the info Judy! Glad it went well. It would be cool if Jon was a recipient next year!
