Jon's beautiful Christmas song "It's Christmas" is charting again this year in Canada. Previously, the song had climbed to #13 in Canada. This year, according to America's Music Charts, "It's Christmas" entered the chart at #42. Since that was a debut position, the song will likely rise. The round black circle around his number on the chart indicates that the song is seeing increased airplay. Hooray for Jon and his co-writer James Collins!
This chart allows fans to help influence the music played on their local stations by signing up to rate music. The site seems to have some connection to Clear Channel Broadcasting. Unless you live in Canada, this isn't likely to help Jon at the moment, but still I signed up. After I provided some personal info and chose the type of radio station I listen to most, they had me listen to snippets of about 10 current songs. They asked if I had heard each song, how much I liked it, and if I was tired of hearing it on the radio. They will send me more surveys to do every now and then.
**************************** California Christmas this year.
I have some interesting news regarding Jon and It's Christmas, and possibly California Christmas as well.
Remember our good buddy Tom Fischer who has been so great to Jon and his fans in the past? Well, Tom would like to use original Christmas songs for his Christmas Eve broadcast on his radio station Tripodder.Com. I suggested Jon's songs to him, and Val Kilmer'sChristmas Is Calling. I'm in negotiations with Val, and I have written to Jon, who must be busy as he hasn't replied back to me. Is there any way to reach Jon in time so maybe his songs can get broadcast on Tom's station, and where can we find any mp3's to send to Tom?
Here's Tom's message:
****If you are an artist with a recorded version of holiday song OR your own original holiday tune and you're interested in appearing on Tripodder.com's Christmas episode, please e-mail us an mp3 of the tune along with brief bio on your band and any fun facts related to the song to tom@tripodder.com asap. Thanks! Tom****
