June 25th – Regis and Kelly June 22nd – Leno In response to news of her summer tour being called on Thursday, the beleaguered Kelly Clarkson has released the following statement to her fans: "I can't tell you how much I've been looking forward to getting out there to perform for y'all. In the craziness of the music business, performing is what I look forward to doing the most, so it really is disappointing for me to have to tell you that I won't be coming out to tour this summer. The fact is that touring is just too much too soon. But I promise you that we're going to get back out there as soon as is humanly possible to give you a show that will be even better. Thanks for all of your love and continued support. - Kelly" Kelly Clarkson rocks my world….I’ve officially upgraded my like to love. And just when you thought she couldn’t be any cooler, she goes and cements her status as the perfect antidote to all the BritneyLindsayParises of the world.
A short list of things Clarkson doesn’t want:
A clothing line. A fragrance with her name on the bottle. A television show. A movie role. A toy dog in a leather jacket.
Like I said, rock on.http://www.afterellen.com/blog/dorothysnarker/kelly-cla...world?comment=3621332007 CMA Music Festival Breaks Attendance Record With More Than 191,000 Country Music Fans Attending …Surprise appearances are a hallmark of this event. And 2007 didn’t disappoint. The first night at LP Field included an unannounced appearance by first season “American Idol” winner Kelly Clarkson, who joined Reba McEntire on two songs — “Does He Love You” and their recent duet release “Because of You.”…http://dmnnewswire.digitalmedianet.com/articles/viewarticle.jsp?id=150285American Idol: Kelly Clarkson speaks outNothing you are about to read is surprising. A record label wants to control a young, profitable artist. A studio head is only interested in making money. We’ve been here before, and it all makes sense, and former American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson isn’t a hero for calling out Clive Davis and RCA in the July issue of Elle magazine (which she has). One way or another, it’s all publicity, and controversy in the name of record sales. Clarkson is probably correct in everything word she says, but that doesn’t mean she had to say them…. http://www.buddytv.com/articles/american-idol/american-...clarkson-s-7225.aspx John Mayer // Elton John // Idols 08 // Daughtry // Jonas Brothers // Rascal Flatts

This is definitely my favorite album from her yet! Who cares about sales, I love this album!! I'm so glad that Kelly didn't listen to Clive!

Oh check this out! Kelly explains the meanings behind each song! ..... Never Again- in which she writes about a relationship gone sour, but it's not what you think. "It's not really a boyfriend-girlfriend thing," explains Kelly. "It's more about trusting and putting your faith in someone and getting let down." Sober- is about survival, knowing what to do when something goes wrong. "It's not easy getting over whatever your addiction may be," she says. "The whole point of that song is, the temptation is there, but I'm not going to give in to it." Judas- is also a song about betrayal, a reference to the biblical character. "You think people are normal and good, then all of a sudden, you get blindsided," says Kelly. Haunted- is an eerie song Kelly wrote four or five years ago about someone she grew up with that committed suicide, in which she cries out, "Where are you?/I need you/Don't leave me here on my own." "I was expressing my anger at how someone could do that," she says. "Why would you leave all these people behind feeling guilty and wondering what they could have done to prevent it? I really believe that God puts us through these situations to help others." Be Still-is a folk-blues number that Kelly compares to Sarah McLachlan, Norah Jones and Bonnie Raitt, with a dash of vintage Christine McVie, explaining how the title comes from one of her favorite Bible verses: "Be still and know that I am here." "It's all about stopping things, slowing down to appreciate life," she says. "Everything just goes so fast, especially in this business. There's just no time to be alone for a moment of quiet. That's why I don't live in L.A. and have always lived in Texas. It's about getting away from the rat race and carving out a space for yourself." Maybe- gives the song a country feel, which Kelly describes as "closer to Ryan Adams or Patty Griffin than traditional country." Yeah- has an upbeat sexy, Prince-meets-Sly & the Family Stone vibe. "The song is about this guy I was dating, who was so cool, but wasn't able to put up with me being in the public eye all the time," she relates. "I want a real man, not someone who's going to walk around on eggshells and be a 'yes' person. I want someone to let me know if they're happy, mad or sad." Can I Have a Kiss- is actually about two different people in the verse and the chorus. "That's the first time I ever did that," she says. "The lyrics are about something very true to me. You know how you want someone, but can't have them because they're off-limits? In the chorus, I sing that, even if you had 'em, you know you'd screw it up. You always want what you can't have. It's a funny, ironic song." Irvine- which she wrote in the bathroom of her dressing room while performing at the Irvine Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre, as "the saddest song I've ever written." "The song is a prayer from the lowest point in my life," she says. "There comes a time when you feel like, if He's up there, God, Allah or whatever you want to call Him, is the only one that can help me out. After that night, I know there's someone or something out there looking out for me." Chivas- the rollicking hidden bonus track, Clarkson channels the late Janis Joplin's "Mercedes Benz" on a cheeky kiss-off drinking song with lines like "You're not worth it, babe/All the trouble you bring...I'm so sick of you, babe/I can't stand the sight of your face... You should keep your eyes on your new girlfriend." It's a sense of humor she demonstrates throughout the album.

Got this from: http://www.kckellyville.comKelly stated at the taping of the Yahoo Live Set (which will be on Yahoo next week) that plans for a tour at the end of summer are being worked on. This has already been reported by some of her spokespeople as well, but no further details have been made available as of yet. All those who had tickets for the cancelled tour will receive an email, phone call, or letter in the mail with how to get tickets for the new tour at a special presale that will be held, giving ticket holders first dibs on seats on the new tour. Everyone's information will be obtained through tickets reporting that is done with every concert ticket transaction. The new tour will also be set for smaller venues, where Kelly can be closer to the audience as with her previous tours. It has also been stated by Kelly herself, and by spokespeople for Kelly, that future singles of the My December album will contain a b-side track of an unreleased song from the album, and some unreleased tracks may end up on itunes (in addition to the 2 unreleased 'delux edition' tracks), and on official websites. No further information on this has been released yet. John Mayer // Elton John // Idols 08 // Daughtry // Jonas Brothers // Rascal Flatts

Sorry, just can’t muster up sympathy for Clarkson….Yes, those of us who have watched the music business abandon real talent and creativity to offer stardom to Hulk Hogan’s daughter should be leaping to our feet, pumping our fists, and going online to buy all the Kelly Clarkson merchandise that can fit into a UPS truck. Shouldn’t we?
Sorry. Can’t do it.
There’s a few reasons not to feel sorry for Kelly Clarkson. Actually, there are many reasons, but the price of newsprint prohibits me from going as far as possible. But let’s tackle a few main points nonetheless……http://www.contracostatimes.com/columns/ci_6176404?nclick_check=1 John Mayer // Elton John // Idols 08 // Daughtry // Jonas Brothers // Rascal Flatts

Kelly Clarkson’s My December: Rumors Aside, LP Isn’t A Radical Departure Singer’s controversial third outing has some aggressive, grungier songs — but it’s not all rage and angst.…And in a preview of the album on Monday night in Century City, California for a taping of “Nissan Live Sets on Yahoo! Music,” Clarkson joked about her label battles during breaks from rocking the stage with a powerful mini-set that boded well for the scaled-down tour she’s expected to launch later this year. (Check out a recap of the show.)
“It’s not about making people upset,” she said, referring to taking creative control of her album. “It’s about not settling. … Nobody wants a sequel to Breakaway, because sequels are never as good as the first one.”… http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1562780/20070618/clarkson_kelly.jhtml John Mayer // Elton John // Idols 08 // Daughtry // Jonas Brothers // Rascal Flatts

Kelly Clarkson -- Desperate to Breakaway Posted Jun 21st 2007 10:15AM by TMZ Staff Filed under: Wacky and Weird Kelly Clarkson just can't catch a frickin' break these days. The singer, who just canceled her concert tour over low ticket sales, had the misfortune of getting locked out of her car last night just as she was engulfed by a paparazzi storm. Damn childproof locks! After dining with Reba McEntire at Koi -- where the country legend announced the two will be performing a duet together on an upcoming album -- Little Miss Clarkson retreated to her SUV ... well, she tried to. With the keys not working on the passenger door, photogs began bombarding Clarkson with questions about her plagued album and scrapped tour -- the original "American Idol" became very visibly uncomfortable. Desperate to get the hell out of there, Clarkson booked it for the open driver's side door and crawled over into the passenger side. As the frustration mounted, Clarkson let out an expletive, followed by a recovery, "love you!" to all her fans. Moments later, her driver finally whisked her away. http://www.tmz.com/2007/06/21/kelly-clarkson-desperate-to-breakaway/ John Mayer // Elton John // Idols 08 // Daughtry // Jonas Brothers // Rascal Flatts
