Anyway, did you watch this year's CI yet? I watched Top 22 today (Monday) and when I saw Greg Neufeld, I thought of you! I remembered he was one of your top favourites from last season.

Last season on CI, I didn't get any of my favorites in the top 10, so I really dont want to get my hopes up about who makes it and who doesn't. You didn't watch Season 4, right? I dont care for Jaydee Bixby, really. He's a little too country twang for me. My friend and I have a little game between us. We picked what we thought the elimination order will be. This is mine.

Did you catch the entire Live Earth concert? I stayed up till after Rihanna's one-hour gig. I really enjoy her recent 2 singles --- Umbrella and [Zip]-up and Drive. Anyway, the reason I wanted to catch her performance was because I heard that she sounded different live. In the negative sense. After watching her, I miss hearing Kalan's voice.
Anyway, thanks for all the youtube links to Greg's performance last year. I totally agree with you that he is very good. I guess he only got as far as Top 18 then. I can see the weakness was his song choice. So far, this year's has been right on track. I really hope and pray that he can get to Top 10 this time. I AM voting for him.
Oh, I did watch last year's CI, but as usual, starting at Top 10, that's why I didn't get to see Greg.
Ha, ha, ha! Jaydee IS country! With Elvis Presley's voice, he will definitely do well in Nashville. Good-looking and absolutely charming. He will make it to Top 10 for sure. May even win because of his personality.
I really want Liam or Greg to win, with Carly or Brian, second. This year's girls are so good-looking, but their singing has been quite difficult to sit through. Carly seems to be the only one who deserves to be in Top 10, and she's one very attactive gal.

With, again, three from British Columbia alone, it's gonna be hard to sustain any three. People should vote on performance of the night as not many of them are up to par. In seasons where everyone is good, as in Season 2 of CI, then people can do regional voting if they can't make up their mind who to vote for. Of course, I knew exactly who deserved to win that year. Kalan Porter so deserves that winning spot!
So, if you could vote for CI, you would vote for Carly regardless, right?
I think Liam has an incredible vocal range, and he does have his own unique style too. Only thing, he needs to reinvent his image. He and Montana look too similar.

Anyway, did you notice that 3 out of the 4 people who left tonight were all with odd hairdos? Maybe the general public really only want those with clean-cut look. Annika has that nice clean look, but she did not measure up to the rest of the gang when it came to singing.

I wasn't quite sure when CTV would air the Canadian one, so I didn't get to watch Kalan, Eva, or Rihanna. I watched most of the US ones, along with some of London and others. I did, however, got to see a Kalan interview. He hasn't changed at all What did he sing? Is there any place I can find it online?

How long will you be gone for to Montreal? Guess what? I'll be somewhere close in a few weeks too --- Quebec, some time in August. And then heading over the border to New York! I'm so looking forward to buying jumbo hot-dogs from street vendors down there in New York, like what we always see in movies. Ha, ha, ha. I'm so silly, always so influenced by what I see in movies. Well, I stayed up pretty much the whole night to watch the Live Earth. Saw Tokyo and one other place which I don't remember now. Every artistes apparently was given an hour to perform. Rihanna came on at 3am and was able to tape the whole performance.
Kalan Porter Street Team announced that Kalan would be on at 11am. What a goofball I was! I forgot that was Ontario time which meant 8am in B.C.. So I missed his interview completely. And you caught it just like that. and you don't love him as much as I do. LOL. Good for you. By the way, he didn't sing so you didn't miss anything. Live Earth didn't hold a concert in Canada. I guess it would be hard to fill up the seats, that's why. Same reason for not having a Top 10 CI tour. Oh, I agree with you that Kalan hasn't changed. Did you notice that he tried putting his head down near the end of the interview? LOL
I'm so thrilled that at least my other favourites made it to Top 10 --- your hunk, Greg and Brian. You know, I'm very sure that if they don't have this rule --- half girls and half boys, Liam would have easily made it. Dumb rule. And their worries about lack of interest for Top10 tour is valid, especially in Canada. I agree that it won't get sold-out if they have one. Of all the CI winners' post-idol tours, only Kalan's got sold-out. Ryan, Mel&Rex and Eva all had to cancel at least a date. It all boils down to our population size. With Kalan, his support goes beyond the CI arena. It's just so amazing to see him achieve double platinum with his first CD. Ryan got one platinum status with Mel and Eva both reached a gold status. So, CI has a positive effect on people's life, for sure. Just look at AI! What a success with all the winners! Even non-winners like Chris Daughtry. It's amazing!

Yeah, just one night. The 30th, actually. I already told my aunt and sister that in order to go, I HAVE to be able to watch Canadian Idol there so I can vote. Sounds like you're planning to have a relaxing trip in NY! I've only been there once, and it was literally just a run around the city. There is SO much to see! Will you be seeing any broadway shows? They seem fun and dull all at the same time, to me.
I started really watching Canadian Idol during season 2, not missing any episodes then. Jacob Hoggard was my favorite. Season 1 just didnt really catch my eye, and it was only the beginning of my Idol-craze. Unforuntately, we do have one huge difference between us. I'm a MAJOR Ruben Studdard fan. Ask anyone. Although, I must admit, I did go see Clay in concert when he came here. Crazy. Did you watch all seasons of AI since season 2? Who were your favorites?

So Kalan seems to be doing the best out of all the Canadian winners. I have yet to read what his new cd will focus on, music wise. By that I mean, is it going to be the same music genre as the last one? I've been getting ready for his release date (although unforunately, I probably wont get it until christmas time, since it takes a bit to convince people to get me the CD LOL) by listening to his first cd nonstop for the past few days You're so informative with CI...hahaha. It makes my Idol knowledge expand even MORE.
With American Idol, each season was better talent wise, minus Seaon 6. But there is always that ONE person who snubs someone else with a spot in the top 12 (Sanjaya, Antonella, Kevin Covais, blah blah blah). I think it has more to do with the "boredom" level with the top 12. I am not sure how else to put it, but a lot of people got bored with a Top 4 of all Diva Girls in season 3 of AI. I dunno. I'm kinda back and forth with the boy-girl ratio thing.

The game is basically just to see how well we think their talent can take them before we actually start to see some people sucking and others doing better than we thought.

No, no, I'm not a fan of Jaydee. He's too boyish. I just thought he would win because a lot of people seemed to like him. I have a totally different list of who I WANT to see win this year's CI. Greg is who I pick too. Actually, when you sent me those links last year of Season 4's Top 22, I totally agreed with you that he should have been up there at Top 10. I noticed him in one of the auditions. I never followed CI or AI until Top 10 (Top 12 for AI). First real connection between us --- not bad.
I didn't mind Jac because he was from my province. To be honest, I was only interested in just enjoying the shows and not get emotionally invested until I saw Elena who was right here from Vancouver. I thought I should support her --- regional thinking.
Anyway, I think Kalan must have secretly put some potion in my juice. He got me started on this fanhood journey. Because I didn't have a computer back then in 2004 and 2005, I had to go to friends' house to check on his websites. I would call on people to vote for him. I think my friends think I am crazy!
I love Ruben as much as I love Clay. I just felt so sorry for Clay who lost by only a mere 3% of votes. I think they should have called it a tie. Why not have both as winners? Ah, phew! I thought you were a fan of Jaydee LOL. He kinda rattles my brain a little bit. I dont understand why he is sticking around much, really. He needs to do what Tara did, since she is country as well, and get out of the old country twang thing. Hey, by judging their weekly performance so far, I've made accurate predictions --- all 3 weeks. You know what this means? It means Canada is voting correctly with no regional biase. In Season 2, there's some serious regional voting taking place.

What drew me to Clay? His voice and singing style. He has this unique way of ringing off a phrase. Nobody does it that way. I know you know what I'm referring to. And I read an article on him post-AI and I like his personality. I am always drawn to strong character trait. I guess I like being inspired.

But what did you think of Khalila's "high" note? People were praising it like it was amazing, but I really didn't think she hit it at all. She's not a high-note singer. Totally needed to stick to the other stuff. Song choice was really all that hurt her. She could've done well (I say that only because I had her down as Third place LOL). I didn't get to meet her in montreal! Trust me, though, I was looking . I guess she would've still be doing press 'stuff' though.
What were your accurate predictions? LOL I dont see it. But you really weren't off on the first three vote offs. It's kinda like AI, though. The first five seasons, people were from the south. And it made me sad that my southern charm stuff didn't work in season six. Boo. -tear-
Hahaha you're so weird I did, however, add Kalan to my list of CDS that I have to get this year. I even put the CD release date on my super Bo Bice calendar! THAT makes a person special, you know. I was just watching the video for "down in heaven." Plain and simple. I like it.
My reasons for people to win American Idol always very to an extent. It's usually just if they're from Alabama or not, LOL. I dont think VFTW was around in Season 2. If so, they did have a ton of really bad people that season, so it wouldn't have been him. He's a great singer. Watch what you say.

There are actually quite a few of U.S fans who are watching Canadian Idol. You'd be surprised! I'd go to Canada to watch my favorites for sure. Hehe.

Unplugged performances were just okay. I thought Tara did nice, but could've done a little better. Brian would've done great if his voice wasn't so...umm I dont know the word for it at the moment. But He wasn't bad. Dwight was great I thought. I could understand what he said while singing. Carly did nice, great song choice. And I'm leaving Greg for last for a reason. hehehe. I love him. He just needs to get thicker eyebrows. His are kinda girly lookin'. Ready for Queen week? They posted the songs we were going to hear, but not who is singing them. They arne't anything great
