KALAN WILL BE ON CANADIAN IDOL ON SEPTEMBER 4TH, 2007!!!!! Yay!
TORONTO (CP) - Music superstars Avril Lavigne, Rihanna, Maroon 5 and Mika are among the guests slated to appear this year on Canadian Idol.
CTV revealed the blockbuster lineup Wednesday as the Idol wannabes were whittled down to 10 hopefuls. Queen's Brian May and Roger Taylor, 2004 [sic] Idol Kalan Porter and reigning champ Eva Avila are also set to help coach the Idols to stardom, CTV said in a release.
Lavigne is scheduled to appear on the 90-minute finale Sept. 11, along with Avila and "a superstar to be announced later this summer."
"We are flattered to have been approached by some of the world's top artists to appear on Canadian Idol," executive producer John Brunton said in the release.
Rihanna will kick off the celebrity visits with a performance of her No. 1 hit "Umbrella" on Wednesday, following an episode Tuesday that has the Top 10 wannabes performing chart hits.
May and Taylor are slated to usher the hopefuls through Queen's rock hits on Aug. 6 and 7, while Maroon 5 will advise the Top 6 on Aug. 13 before performing live on Aug. 14.
British pop sensation Mika arrives Aug. 27 and 28 for the show's "British Invasion" episode while Porter returns to the Idol stage Sept. 4 as part of the "people's choice" episodes that will narrow the race to a final two competitors.
He will be among great companies! He's listed as a superstar! We all know that already, that is, he is a born-superstar! Can't wait to see him. A few more weeks to go. Can I make it?

Liddie, you are so right about Kalan singing. He is going to sing on September 4th. He is going to perform the exit song like Chris Daughtry did. Kalan's exit song is called "Walk On Home" and it's up at his myspace http://www.myspace.com/kalanporter and he talks about extreme loneliness and deep pain. Very chilling song.
Kalan also got to chat with this year's CI Season 5's Top 22. Check it out here http://broadband.ctv.ca/etalk/?sid=129&id=1997 --- 3 different videos altogether --- one after another, a total of 33 minutes. Some of the Top 22 contestants are his greatest fans. Great clips.
