What?! This is so mean! All the concerts that I would be able to go to are in September! Ugh! Surprise My parents wont let me go during school. Now how will I ever to be able to see Sanjaya? I guess I'll just go to Kelly's concert instead!

Phil Stacey Unsure About Idol Tour

There were plenty of tears on the American Idol stage and in the audience when Ryan announced that Phil Stacey's time was up after singing Bon Jovi's "Blaze of Glory." The 29-year-old had mixed reviews from the judges throughout the weeks on the show and Wednesday was his fifth time in the bottom three. Maybe it was Stacey's "good guy" image, the well-known fact that he's a father of two, a devoted husband to wife Kendra and a sailor in the U.S. Navy, that kept audiences voting for him even when he had a less than stellar performances on the stage.

But it is a singing competition after all and now Stacey is headed home. If there is any comfort for eliminated contestants at this stage in the competition, it's that they will be performing for their biggest fans on the American Idols Live Tour with their fellow finalists this summer. But for Phil Stacey, his status as an active member of the U.S. Navy means this small comfort is not yet guaranteed.

The day after his elimination Stacey spoke with reporters about his duty to the military, who he thinks can win the competition and why, in the season of Sanjaya, being bald worked for him.

Are you going back to your job in the Navy?
It's my primary responsibility... If they need me for a case, I have my first commitment to them. That is a possibility. I give the Navy all the props in the world. The last that I spoke with my commanding officer things looked promising for me to go on [the American Idols Live] tour but yes, it would break my heart to not be able to go, but I have a duty to fulfill my responsibility to the Navy first and foremost.

What do you expect for the rest of your naval career?
I have loved every moment in the Navy -- to do my duty and be a part of what was happening in the war against terror. … I don't have any plans of getting out early. I will be in until at least October 2008. This could change depending on the circumstances that come my way, but that is the plan now.

Did your Navy brothers tease or applaud you?
I got a lot of support. Up front they made fun of me when I went to the auditions. Once I got on the show they were nothing but supportive. They sent me lots of text messages.

Who do you think is the front runner now in the competition?
I think Blake is by far the most original contestant. Lakisha sings with so much passion. Jordan has got a range that lasts for days. Melinda has the best vocals. Its anybody's game right now.

With so much discussion about hair this season, why did bald work for you?It was unique. If it was last year and I was put up against Chris Daughtry, I don't know if it would have gone over that well! But this year I was the only one to do bald so it worked. It was different.

After country week Randy said you had a promising career. Is that the kind of music what you'd like to do?
I am grateful that you can ask that question. Country and gospel – I don't know which path God will put me on but I will follow the path God puts me on.

I think that they might've actually spent money on the AI tour stage this year. If you look at the seating chart on ticketmaster, American Idol has it's own little category. I think the stage might be a little extended far into the audience.

The Red Sox Overtake Yankees as #1 Seller According to TicketsNow Entertainment Index

…American Idols Live, a summer concert tour that features the top 10 finalists from Fox’s hit show American Idol, shot up the ranks to the top of the concert category, with 8.8% of the concert tickets sold and 2.5% of the total tickets sold on TicketsNow. The American Idols’ tour jumped last month’s number one, Kenny Chesney, who dropped to number three in the concert category with 6.3% of concert tickets sold. The Police retained the number two spot for the second straight month with 7.1% of the tickets sold in the concert category…

Rehearsals have started

I flew Tuesday to L.A. to start rehearsals for the tour.

La-La land is as beautiful as ever...I really love L.A....not sure I'd ever want to live here simply beacause I hate traffic and it takes so freaking long to get anywhere. The hotel we're staying at is nice, and for the first time, we each get our individual rooms, or suites in this case. We've all had fun hanging out and being back together. It really is cool to see how well everyone on the tour gets along with one another. We just really enjoy being together...it's rare you get 10 singers who are as talented as this group is and not have egos raging...but even the people who made it the furthest are just as normal as when we started all this 9 months ago.

I gave a couple of teasers before, but let me give you more to whet your appetite. Then you can discuss what you think the teasers mean.

The show opener is something that has never been done on the idol tour. I can't give details quite yet, but I'll put it this way, we are getting it started in a really hip, cool way...literally nothing like it has ever been done on the tour.

The guys are doing a group number doing another thing that has never been done on tour before.

So, discuss those two.

The way the tour works this year is a little different than past years. More on that later, but the solo sets are being done in a different way than before. I think it'll be much hipper the way we're doing it this year. There's also not a lot of group numbers, which I've heard there were several of in past years.

Rehearsals are going well. Everyone is pumped up and excited because forr the next three months 4-5 nights a week, we get to be with the fans.

It's going to be great.

Here is an interview with all the Idols about the tour. They don’t reveal much about the tour, but Blake has been burning the midnight hour recording his album and Jordin is doing something with a couple of songs for her album.
