Mr. Scott Savol was recently on a local Clevland, Ohio radio station and had some interesting words in regards to this seasons American Idol.
"Honestly man, I just think Season 4 blazed. If I was in this years competition, I feel I would've had a much better shot at getting my record deal. I mean between the little kid this year and that no talent pretty boy, who wouldn't want me to win that competition. It's all love though."
Sounds like Scott isn't too fond of little Kevin Covais and Ace Young.
Aaaaaaaaand you can listen to a new song that Jessica Sierra is working on called "Unbroken" at: www.nickbrophy.com I think it sounds pretty gooood
These days Smith is finishing up his debut album, tentatively titled Got to Getcha. He says he hopes to release the disc by the end of summer on his own record label, the N Music Group, which he launched late last year.
"I've got a team of people [from my hometown, St. Louis,] trying to do their thing [on the album]," the 23-year-old Smith explained."
Smith has signed three up-and-coming artists to his label, including rapper D-Miles, singer/songwriter Kane and fellow R&B singer Alanna. He says he started the label because he wanted to be his own boss and to retain creative control over his protégés' projects.
Both D-Miles and Kane appear on the singer's debut single, "Getcha," a club track infused with thumping beats and smooth rhymes.
Still, Smith isn't veering too far from his "Idol" roots. He's been talking with former "Idol" contestants Anwar Robinson and Scott Savol (see " 'Idol' Finalists Anwar And Nikko Record On The Road") about some potential collaborations.
"I want to get [them] on [the album], but it's something I'm still working on," he said.
'Idol' Dropout Mario Vazquez's Single Debuts Wednesday, March 29, 2006 By Don Kaplan LOS ANGELES — The answer to the trivia question, whatever happened to Mario, the dropout from "American Idol," has an answer. Mario Vazquez — who, even in the early stages of last season's edition of "Idol," was considered a favorite to win — has his first single coming out this week.
Mario mysteriously quit the megahit show last spring after making it into the finals, but swore it wouldn't be the last anyone heard from him.
Turns out, he may be right.
His new single, "Gallery," produced by Clive Davis' J Records was shipped to radio stations this week, in two versions — one in English and another in Spanish.
"I don't want to give too much away, but lyrically it's just longing love, lost love, wanting love," Bronx-born Mario told MTV.com.
His still-untitled album is currently in production but will not hit stores until at least the end of the summer, according to industry sources.
J Records, which has typically only signed the winners and runners-up of the Fox talent show, locked up Vazquez last August after months of speculation about why Vazquez left "Idol."
At the time he stunned everyone, including his mother, when he abruptly left the show for "personal reasons" after making it into the final 12.
He is the only contestant in all five seasons of the show so far to make it nearly to the end and then quit.
Shortly after his departure, rumors began to surface that the then-28-year-old had been approached by hip-hop impresario Sean "Diddy" Combs with a deal to appear on his label, Bad Boy Records.
In interviews last year, Combs declined to comment, but it was understood that Vazquez had become a hot property when his commitment to "Idol" expired after last May's season finale.
"Basically, it comes down to my intuition," Vazquez told E! at the time. "It wasn't time for me to do this now. There were certain aspects of my life that I needed to take care of first."
Late last summer, Davis unexpectedly announced his deal with the young singer.
Davis has called Vazquez "a multitalented, young, American-born, Hispanic singer with the voice and charisma that we've been trying to find for a long time."
United Press International Single from Mario Vasquez hits radio NEW YORK, March 29 (UPI) -- "American Idol" dropout Mario Vazquez is about to become a household name again, one year after he walked away from the finals of the Fox TV talent show.
The New York native's single, "Gallery," produced by the legendary Clive Davis, has been sent to radio stations nationwide in two versions, English and Spanish, the New York Post reported Wednesday.
Industry sources say his album is in production right now and expected to hit store shelves at the end of the summer.
Vazquez stunned not only "Idol" personnel but also his family when he made it to the final 12, then announced he would rather try to make it on his own.
Then late last summer, he signed with Davis' J Records.

Ex-'Idol' Singer Scott Savol Halts LP For Being Too Hip-Hop
'Scotty the Body' says he wants the disc to be contemporary R&B.
Whether he's hawking karaoke machines on QVC, sending fans tins of Hershey's kisses or singing the national anthem at pro sports game, former "Idol" contestant Scott Savol has been anything but idle.
This month the Ohio native and season-four finalist will return to the studio to complete the debut album he started last fall. Savol recorded nine songs in his home studio but put the project on hold because he didn't think the producers he was working with were getting the sound right.
"I figured out that, creatively, it wasn't what I wanted to put out," he explained. "I kind of had the feeling that what I was about to put out wasn't gonna be beneficial to me. It's just me not being the young, 17-year-old kid, you know? I didn't want to do a hip-hop/R&B thing. My thing is more the adult contemporary R&B, like Luther [Vandross]."
Savol said he hopes to be finished by June, and then he'll start shopping the LP to labels.
"Pretty much everybody [from 'Idol'] is in the same boat as I am, tryin' to get their project done," Savol said. "You know, 'cause unlike the first- and second-place contestants, pretty much everything is on us. ... We don't have the record labels doin' everything for us."
On the show, Savol had the unfortunate distinction of being the first singer to get the support of VoteForTheWorst.com and in turn received flak for evading elimination as long as he did. Simon Cowell called him Houdini for his knack for escaping trouble. It was also revealed during the season that Savol had once been arrested for domestic violence against his infant son's mother.
Savol says he's put all that behind him.
"I have nothing but positive thoughts and ideas," he said. "I read so many articles where people are puttin' me down. A lot of people don't think that I should have been on that show that long last year, but you know, the plain fact is I was. I had one of the best voices on that show last year."
Along with continuing to sing, Savol, whom Ryan Seacrest nicknamed "Scotty the Body," is getting married in July. "I'm just livin' my life like I did before," he said.

Vonzell Solomon now a screen 'Idol' Fresh from wrapping her movie debut for the independent film 'Still Green,' Vonzell Solomon talks about this season of 'American Idol' and more
By Mark S. Krzos mkrzos@news-press.com Originally posted on April 25, 2006
Vonzell Solomon, the former Fort Myers letter carrier who finished third on last season's "American Idol," says this season's competition is wide open.
With six contestants remaining on season five — and tonight's theme of classic love songs — Solomon said she believes any one of the contestants remaining have the potential to win.
"I haven't watched enough of this season to pick a favorite," said Solomon, 22. "I liked Mandisa a lot and was surprised that she was voted off. I also really like Paris and Chris, but I really can't say who will or who should win because I haven't seen much of the show. I've been so busy.
"I'll get phone calls from my friends or family asking me if I just saw the show," Solomon said, laughing. "But I've only seen a couple of the performances."
Since Solomon's exit last season, the singer has been traveling all over the United States for public appearances on TV shows such as "The Tyra Banks Show," and VH-1's "Big in O5" awards show, concerts and other events such as Kellogg's 100-year anniversary party and serving as grand marshal for the Edison Festival of Light parade in Fort Myers.
After the parade, Solomon was criticized by some people for charging for autographs. Solomon, however, said that criticism was unfair.
“At every autograph session I have merchandise to sell, and if anyone comes up to me anywhere at any time with something to sign, I’ll sign it,” she said.
Solomon explained that she charged only for autographs signed on her own glossy pictures that were sold before and after the parade.
“People say things and people write things all the time that aren’t necessarily true,” she said.
Like a bar fight last week, between fellow contestant Bo Bice and former Buffalo Bills and New York Giants offensive lineman Glenn Parker?
“I heard about that and I don’t believe it,” Solomon said. “Bo is such a nice guy — a Southern gentleman.”
Solomon finished season four of “American Idol” behind Bice and winner Carrie Underwood. She shot to fame on the show as a soul and R&B singer, covering songs by Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston. Now Solomon has another category to add to her resume — actress.
Last summer, Solomon was scheduled to appear in the film “Still Green,” much of which was being shot in Bonita Springs and Naples. But the night before her scene was scheduled to be shot at Silver Platter Records in Fort Myers, the film crew’s van was burglarized.
After that, Solomon’s scene appeared to be in doubt.
But the filmmakers insisted on making it happen and this past weekend, Solomon was in Charleston, S.C., to film her big-screen debut.
“It wrapped up yesterday,” she said. “It was a lot of fun and it didn’t seem like work to me.”
Solomon plays a record- store clerk who tries to assist one of the main characters in finding an obscure record by a punk band.
“He gives me some attitude because I don’t know the band and that the record is filed in the pop section instead of the alternative section,” she said. “He gives me some attitude and I give it right back to him. There’s a little flirting going on too.”
“Still Green” is about a group of recent high school graduates who rent a beach house in Southwest Florida as a last hurrah before heading off to college. What was supposed to be a tranquil week, however, turns into tragedy.
“It was really interesting to see how a movie is shot,” Solomon said. “They had to shoot my scene from all these different angles.”
Next up for Solomon is an appearance on this season’s “American Idol” and the release of a new CD.
“I’ll probably head out to Los Angeles within the n ext few weeks,” she said. “I may go to the finale or sometime before then. I don’t know.”
This much she does know: She is continuing to work on her new CD for the indie label Melodic Records. When real clerks in record stores will be getting it, she doesn’t know.
“I’m still working on it, so I don’t know when it’ll be out,” she said.

Jessica Sierra's stalker being released...this is scary:
Fri May 26, 2006 An alleged stalker of season-four finalist Jessica Sierra is due to be released from a Florida mental-health facility following a 100-day stay, Thursday's St. Petersburg (Florida) Times reported.
Florida authorities decided it was best for the man, Daniel Robert Young, 60, to continue his treatment in his home state of California, the paper said.
Sierra, who finished 10th in the 2005 competition, sounded satisfied.
"I'm glad to hear that he is getting the treatment he needs," Sierra said in a statement to the newspaper. "I am relieved that this situation is behind me now, and I am able to focus my full attention on my music career."
Young was arrested in Tampa, Florida, in January after showing up at the home of Sierra's grandparents. He allegedly had been plying Sierra with unsolicited phone calls and gifts since last fall. He faces a charge of misdemeanor stalking, the St. Petersburg Times said.

I remember Judd Harris, he actually kind of reminded me of Jon in a way.
Isn't Judd Harris the one who sang with Billy Joel at his college or something? I liked him.

J.D.: If you’re able to comment on this, what are your thoughts on your recent stalker situation?
Jessica: My stalker situation is going well. I mean, he’s in a mental facility now. They’re getting ready to release him, but uh… They’re getting ready to release him back to California. I have a restraining order on him. And I know that he’s stated that he’s suing me (rolls eyes) because he lost his house and all that. But I mean, y’know what, it happens, especially when you’re in the public eye. And it happens to people who are not in the public eye. You just hear about it more. And y’know, actually, now, I have taken a stance on it, and I am now the spokesperson for the Department of Justice, for the Stalking Resource Center. I’m helping people to put a face to the crime so they can come forward with it.
J.D.: Was having a stalker something that you’d ever have expected?
Jessica: I mean, you always consider certain facts if you’re going to do something like this, but you don’t really ever think it’s going to happen to you. I mean what are the odds of somebody getting a stalker? When it happened, I was like wow! At first I didn’t even really know how to say it, it was just “oh God, there’s this man who won’t leave me alone!” And then he showed up at my grandparents’ house. He’d call me six or seven times a day. He would send me gifts he had bought me. He would get really angry when I wouldn’t answer my phone and stuff. And then once he showed up and got arrested, they were like “stalking,” then it kind of clicked for me. So, with me speaking out about it now, hopefully it won’t get that far with other people, and they’ll be like able to recognize it and stop it now.
