If you haven't had a chance to see Jon play an acoustic show yet, now is the time! Jon will be peforming at the Cat Club on Sunset Blvd., Tuesday June 19th. The show will be a special 18 yrs. and older event. Jon hits the stage at 8:00. Doors open at 7:30. This is going to be a great night to get up close and personal with Jon's music.
This club's website is currently not working, but they do have a MySpace.

Kirstie, I never could find out very much about this place beyond what is on their myspace, where it does mention that you should bring quarters for parking. Bring your ID too. I assume you buy tickets at the door.

The Cat Club show was great. The club is a very small, intimate place where you are definitely up close with the artists. Jon played an acoustic set with his phenomenal guitar player, Andrew Synowiec. Andrew also brought out his electric guitar it was awesome! Jon sang several songs from the album along with couple of his new tunes. He has written a new song about Christopher Columbus which is now one of my favorites, and "Beautiful" was..as always..beautiful.
The Roxy performance is just around the corner, so if you are in town on Saturday the 30th, it's going to be another great show. This will be the full band and it is all ages. We would love to see all of you there!
Awesome...thanks Judy. Still can't wait to hear this new song, when will we get a taste of it? Or have we already and I'm just stupid?
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Favorite quote from 2007: Some people are like a Slinky ... not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you shove them down the stairs.
Thanks for the report Judy. Andrew truly is an amazing guitar player. I am very eager to get a good listen to this Columbus song. And chance we could get some video of it?
The Columbus song seems to be the type of song nobody is doing right now. A historical song? Can anyone think of other current songs like that? Only thing that comes to my mind is the older song "American Pie," and look at the fantastic reception it got. I think many people would like a song about Columbus, depending on what it says.
Lisa could tell us more about the general feel and sound of the song. Lisa?

I'm glad the Chris Columbus song is one of Judy's favs; I bet it's going to be a lot of people's favorite.
I'm sure his fans will have fun trying to interpret the meaning behind the lyrics. Though it's about Chris, I don't know if it's so much historical, but more like he(Jon)was using Columbus' experiences and feelings to describe more modern day things.... in a round about way. But I'm sure it will have enough historical references to wet your appetite, Arts
As far as the sound...it was soft, pretty, and acoustic (and it seemed a little sad, too!)
Of course he's probably changed it up quite a bit, and my interpretation could be far from what is in Jon's head, or anyone elses interpretation.
