FIRST VOLUME OF CURTAIN CALL COLLECTION FEATURING PAST AMERICAN IDOL VOCALISTS WILL BE RELEASED FEBRUARY 5TH
LOS ANGELES - Everyone has their own former American Idol finalist favorites, who touched us with their heart and passion. Here’s your chance to discover what these unique vocalists have been up to since they left the show. The brand new Curtain Call series reintroduces you to some of Idol’s most talented young performers with four extensive volumes, each containing 12 original songs.
A joint venture between Artists’ Addiction Records and Rocket Science, the Curtain Call collection will be available exclusively through Wal-Mart and iTunes. Each installment will present four Idol finalists performing three original songs. The first volume, featuring Jon Peter Lewis, Ryan Starr, A.J. Tabaldo and Stevie Scott, will street on February 5.
walmart.com has the album listed at being $8.82.... You can preorder it, but there is no artist/track info listed (and no pic yet..) With it being at $8.82 online, I'm thinking it will probably be around $9.72 in the stores...
If you do preorder it, you can do site to store, not sure if it would get there on the 5th, but its usually cheaper to do that.. You don't have to pay shipping that way, and sometimes online orders don't charge as much for tax...
That's great that Jon will be on the 1st volume! And being in Wal-Mart stores is great exposure - they are everywhere. We have 5 of them within 25 miles of my home.

I posted this in another thread, but just so nobody misses it--Idol Waves Radio just played "Man From Amsterdam" and listed it as coming from this album. Tune in, and you'll probably hear other songs from the album too. Remember to give Jon's songs a thumbs up.

You can see the album cover and track listing here. You can also listen to samples there. Apparently, "Boy Next Door" is in fact bleeped on the album. Jon has other great songs that could have been included on this album, so it is hard to see why they would go with a bleeped version if that word "wh*re" is too objectionable. It's not a word I tend to use myself, but I more or less see why Jon used it. "Boy Next Door" is also that remix with Jon singing in the higher voice, the version that I think is in many ways artistically inferior to the original, lower version, even though the instruments are better on it. I suppose "Man From Amsterdam" will have to be bleeped for a couple of words too then.
It was nice to see the cover so I'll know what to look for when I go into Walmart on February 5 to buy this. Believe me, I plan to go in there and blast Jon on their little player machines, while I say things out loud like, "Dang, that Jon Peter Lewis has a FIIINNNEEE voice." I will, however, refrain from doing my "Gypsy Queen" shuffle down the electronics aisles, but RESTRAINT WON'T BE EASY!
Here is the track listing: 01 My Religion Ryan Starr
02 Broken Ryan Starr
03 Blue Ryan Starr
04 Tomorrow AJ Tabaldo
05 Let You Go AJ Tabaldo
06 Tell Me AJ Tabaldo
07 Boy Next Door Jon Peter Lewis
08 Gypsy Queen Jon Peter Lewis
09 Man From Amsterdam Jon Peter Lewis
10 Close The Door Stevie Scott
11 Know Better Next Time Stevie Scott
12 Off To The City Stevie Scott

Thanks Arts, but I think you should do your "Gypsy Queen" shuffle down the electronics aisle!
I didn't see where you could listen to samples though. Sometimes I'm blind I guess.

that is a shame about the blank spot in "Boy Next Door". they could have at least covered the blank spot some sort of sound or something....lol. i am also sad about the version they chose to use, but at least i have the other version on the original album i bet they must have bleeped "Man From Amsterdam" too, but it won't be so bad since it will only be once and not that line is not so critical to the song, lyrically.
"I say hey to the _____ and the ______and the ________ and the preacher man, living outside my door."
We all know by now that diva is the MOST objectionable word, so that line is going to be WAY messed up.
Anyway, I was just reading about that last blank with the family tonight. It is used in the Bible a bunch of times. If these things are put in a proper context and not glamorized or made to seem O.K., then I have less problem with them. At least in this song, it is all just landscape. The character singing the song lives in a place with some troubled people and was troubled himself before his change.
But you really have to watch out for those d*vas. If anyone here knows someone who is tempted to become a div*, please show her the light.

D*va's? Oh.. I thought it was "Dealers". lol, guess that's a case of "Misheard Lyrics".

I am wrong, Paula! It IS dealers. That makes a heck of lot more sense than divas in the context of the song, but I've just been hearing divas, probably because of the divas on parade in "If I Go Away" and because of Jon's comments on divas, though he does make some positive comments on divas as well.
"Dealers" actually may get bleeped too then since gambling with cards is also a no-no. hahahahaha. I am particularly impaired when it comes to hearing lyrics, so genuine thanks for pointing out my error, Paula.
(I do actually know what kind of dealers he is talking about though. Used car sales dealers are very, very bad. But seriously, folks, stay away from dealers of all kinds, or you will ruin your life.)

I still like Ryan Starr's voice, but after listening to the clips on this site she doesn't seem like she's doing too well! With lyrics like "Don't say you love me, it's emotional suicide. Don't say you love me, cause I will never be satisfied" from the song "Broken". Then another song called "Blue". I wonder if these are all songs she's writing? If so, she seems to be the new female Morrissey.
lol arts. Well, this reminds me of a visit to the hearing doctor I had. As part of one of my check-ups, I had my hearding tested. The doctor said I had excellent hearing and I replied, "So people really do mumble?" He cracked up laughing.
