Everyone is making great comments about the album! I really enjoy reading what y'all have to say. But I am now going to be a rebellious, line-crossing, wicked, evil hellion. Probably the proper place to post this story would be in the street team area, but I'm posting it here in a public area because 1) I'm pig headed and 2) this album is so amazing that it needs everyone (even lurkers) to help it get into stores where it will be seen and bought.
If it is not in your local stores, ask them to get it in. I recently had occasion to return to real civilization and to the Barnes & Noble where I had bought the album on July 22. No more were on the shelves, so I asked the clerk if the store had any more. He said, "No, we are sold out, but I can order one for you." I gave him a genuinely pitiful look and said, "Oh, I already have one, but my friend is interested in it, and I wanted to refer her to your store." The accommodating clerk replied, "Well, let me order some more in then for the shelves." Woohoo!
The moral of this story is: If stores do not have album, ask directly if they can order some in for their shelves. Be bold!
The local residents will be grateful that you helped the store choose such excellent music.
I also was in a Borders a few days before this Barnes & Noble encounter. The Borders clerk said they did not have the album and neither did other Borders stores nearby. Now I'm kicking myself for not pointedly asking her if she could order in some copies for the shelves. Live and learn. It doesn't hurt to ask for what you want, so ask!
Please report here in this thread any stores where you see the album. This will help us track the album's progress in stores. If you want to see which Borders stores are stocking the album, you can trace that on their site. For instance, a search shows that the majority of Borders stores in the San Francisco area are stocking the album.

I happened by a Borders near Vienna, VA on Friday. They did have the album. Every Borders and B&N that I've been to in the greater DC area has had it on the shelf.
Thanks iris and jolie. Most Best Buy store will also have the album. I checked with one Best Buy, however, and they had sold out all of their stock. The clerk told me they had gotten in 13 copies, but all of those were gone. Stores that are out of stock can usually order more in for people.
Some Walmarts should also have CD, though it isn't in any near me yet.

I'm not sure how to contact them other than to leave a request for the album in Electronics, but then you have to rely on the fact that that assocate actually passes on your request.
