I've only heard the one song, Break The Silence so far, but I love it and I can't wait to hear more. Smile

I've pre-ordered mine and eagerly await it's hallowed arrival in the mail. Smile

Jon's new CD, a concert by The Bangles in October (yes, they're coming Down Under again this year), and the possible hint of Catwoman in the next "Batman" movie! They say good things come in threes! LOL

Cheers, Mikey Smile

I got mine, and early favorites are Bridges and Somthing Sacred (names could be wrong), but I've got others that I'm liking as well. My car has a great stereo system and the CD sounds great! Hope everyone gets theirs soon.

I hope I get mine today or I'll cry. No really I think I would.

From the sound clips I have heard on various sites, I think I am already completely stuck on "If You Don't Mean It" and "Came Here For" and that is just from like a 20 second clip. Of course I already know I love "Beautiful" and "Now That I am Kneeling" from hearing them live. Again I hope to find out today which will be the first track to start skipping in my CD player because I listened to it way too much. Wink

ALMOST MAIL TIME!

Got mine today too!!!!! OMG I love BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Listening to it for the first time right now, I had a little bit of computer problems so, I had to set up a new one (again, took the other one back). Anyway, for some reason it was in the van when my dad came to get to me, so I took it into the store when I took the computer in and I was so happy, I had to go back to Electronics and yell at one of the guys I work with back there to show him my name in the booklet...He was like "You are so giddy right now, you are shaking" (And I was). Then he told me he was jealous of me, cuz my name is in a cd booklet... HAHA

I have to agree with you about "Beautiful". It already has 34 plays on my iTunes!

So far "Beautiful" has the most plays besides "Break The Silence" but catching up are "If You Don't Mean It", "Now That I'm Kneeling", "Came Here For", "Winning Streak" and "No Fire". I Love L>O>V>E> Love this album!

ETA: Oh and I cracked and bought the album off iTunes too. I couldn't help it! I must own all Jon Peter Lewis music.

Hey ya'll! These are exciting times, for Jon and the rest of us. I'm so thrilled to be able to get his album in the record store. It says on the front page it will be available at Target and that's where I'll purchase mine. I LOVE you Jon Peter, thanks for the great music. Flower Wink Thumb
The highlight of my week will be listening to this album over and over again. (I doubt if I'll make it through the whole album in one week. There's always at least one song I play to death because I like it so much!) Cat Wink

You'll have to tell me which one you picked, because I can't pick just one. Right when I think I have a favorite I hear another one and it holds different emotions, sounds, qualities and that then becomes my favorite. I'm so torn....

I got mine yesterday and was really happy to get the whole package in the mail, the 2 CD's and the T-shirt. It was like an early birthday present!

I'm going to be the odd duck and point out a song no one has mentioned that I really like. It's track #4 - Winning Streak. I really liked that song from the first time I heard it and like it more and more as I hear it. I like all of the CD and have other favorites as well, but wanted to mention this song as the one that stands out the most for some reason.

No I love "Winning Steak" a lot too Paula, you're no odd duckling. It has a great melody and a POSITIVE love message, that on the rare occasion my Nano has the chance to play it, it gets played more then once itself. I have to say that is where JonIsLife and I have something VERY much in common. Wink We play great songs to death.

But as I am in a rebound kind of phase myself, "If You Don't Mean It" and "Beautiful" are the two getting the most plays for me. May or may not be a good thing but I did just find myself singing "If You Don't Mean It" just now in the shower, LOL

I am also stuck on "Now that I'm Kneeling" which has a whole different meaning for me. Oh and "Came Here For"! But it is the a combination of the sound of Jon's voice in that song and the music, not really the words, that does something else for me entirely.

Tonight, I went into town. While there, I decided to see who had the album. F.Y.E didn't have it in, though they said they could order it in. Target showed 4 albums in the store in their inventory control tracker thingee, and it even said which aisle the albums should be in, but no albums were on the shelves. The tracker thingee also showed that none were in the stockroom. So either all 4 sold today, or those 4 are in a limbo between the stock room and the selling floor. Barnes and Noble had two sitting on a display runner at eye level. I bought one of the two since it has been a dream of mine to buy a Jon-only album from a store. I got a member discount which made the price $14.39. Walmart didn't have any, but it may be coming in there since they were late getting the Curtain Call album.

I plan to get a second physical copy from Walmart as well, there or Hastings.

Ok, "If You Don't mean It" just took over my nano!

Here is why:

I don't know
How to feel
Let the words, come easily to me
You seem lost
In your thoughts...
I find it hard to breathe!
Why Won't You Tell Me What It Is?!
It's Driving Me CRAZY trying to second, guess, you!

Don't say you love me, I don't believe it.
Don't say the words if you don't mean it!
Don't want to hear it, out in the open,
keep it inside if you don't mean it!

Don't even want to talk about it
I know that I could live without it

If it's right
If it's wrong
Would someone let me know
It's a game
I can't play
Do I just let you go?!

Maybe it's just the way it is
I get the feeling that you know it's OVER!

Don't say you love me, I don't believe it!
Don't say the words, if you don't mean it!
Don't want to hear it, out in the open
Keep it inside if you don't mean it!

Don't even want to talk about it
I know that I could live without it
I just don't want to talk about it
God knows, I could live without it

Don't say you love me I don't believe it!
Don't say the words if you don't mean it!
Don't want to hear it out in the open,
Just say goodbye, if you don't mean it!!!!

No, oh no no no
If don't mean it.
If you, if you, if you don't mean it!

Don't even want to talk about it...

Best song EVER! And I mean it! I'm going to go quote it on my myspace page.

Now I will gush about "Song for Christopher Columbus." This song is stunningly brilliant. I'd heard the song in concert and loved it, but this studio version is breathtaking. The 3/4 time of the song and the instruments give the song a palpable swing. When a song has 3 beats in a measure, the song will feel like a dance. Waltzes have 3 beats to a measure. But in this song, the 3/4 time actually conjures up a feeling of swaying on the ocean's waves. Moreover, the way Jon's voice is harmonically layered on certain parts is achingly gorgeous. It actually reminds me of the way sound billows and reverberates when you are under water. The soft guitar and percussion plop pleasantly, making me think of ocean spray. Jon's voice contains such a pleading and poignant feel that we sense Columbus's real concern for Isabelle and regret for his own lost dreams. I love the image of Isabelle's velvet-lined dreams. That is such a clever turn of phrase. Dreams aren't lined with velvet, but the phrase shows that she leads an easy and weathy life compared to Columbus, who took a risk and feels he is lost and drowning.

Another way to see the song is through the American Idol prism. There must have been days when Jon regretted he ever dreamt of being on such a show, when he felt he was drowning, but he would have come too far to turn back. The image of sailing off the edge of the world and being buried in stars is magnificent. Many stars do clutter the Hollywood sky, making it difficult to divine [figure out] where he should head. At least all Jon's dreams aren't really dancing in the dark out reach, but what a grand image that is too!

No one is talking about "No Fire". I think this song is hauntingly awesome. The piano, the voice, the sentiment. It makes me feel. It moves me. Not to mention his voice is stellar on this song. It is full and rich with layers and layers. (whatever all that crap means.) All I know is this basic truth, his voice on this song fills every last part of my cochlea and gives my Organ of Corti an auditory orgasm.

sorry meant to quote it.
