Ok, there was talk about "Becoming Jane" and needing tissues. So now I must ask HOW!? Tell me HOW we do not have a thread on "P.S. I Love You" started already?!
Ok I am such a chick flick fan. Throw in some comedy and dress it up artsy style ("Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind",<<< fantastic movie!) and you have the makings of a great movie in my mind.
So "P.S I Love You", (<not artsy but still stupendous) I am sorry, I am, I am a great fan of the classics "Ghost", "Pretty Woman", "Dirty Dancing", "Sleepless In Seattle" even the new classic romance movies like "The Notebook" and the "Moulin Rouge" . This list could go on and on. Go ahead and add to it please. I love this stuff.
But "P.S. I Love You", in my mind, beats them all. I cried almost the whole movie. I mean it does co-star Lisa Kudrow and it has many laugh out loud funny moments.
If it tells you anything though, I watched it with two very good friends of mine. They met and fell in love in High School. In fact, in both their journals that each kept back then, they both wrote on the day they met that they had found the person the were meant to be with. I know, I hate them too. But they have had their issues and the movie is good at showing that too. All three of us just sat there crying. I mean myself and my male friend TRIED to fight back tears but you can't with this movie. I mean it is just that good. It had me wanting to scream at the T.V. "Where's MY Gerry?!" "Where is the one man that makes all other men obsolete?" It is a must see.
Anyone else seen it? Oh yeah, I think I will start a thread of great romantic chick flicks that you must see before you die. Kind of like a movie "bucket list"
Now after all this I think I will head to JP's myspace page and listen to his "Make You Feel My Love" and "Tonight" and bawl like a baby some more.
