Hey Guys

I went to see
The Dark Knight a couple of days ago (for which I will be writing a review early next week for
Living Life Boomer Style magazine so I will save my thoughts on that for the review) - nevertheless I will say it was a fabulous movie.
Christian Bale remains one of my two favourite Batman portrayals (along with
Val Kilmer), and I am eager to see any future installments in the franchise, and I would be delighted to have
Robin and especially
Batgirl return to the franchise as well.
Heath Ledger (The Joker) and
Aaron Eckhart (Harvey Dent/Two-Face) were also awesome, and I liked
Maggie Gyllenhaal much better as
Rachel Dawes in
The Dark Knight rather than
Katie Holmes in
Batman Begins.

One thing I did want to share before I post my review in a couple of days for those who are interested, is that there may be a hint as to which villain may appear in the next film opposite
Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne/Batman. Apparently, Batman is attacked by some dogs and when he's having a new Batsuit made by
Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman), Bruce asks if the new suit will protect him against dogs, and Lucius quips that the new suit may even protect him against...
CATS...!

Could this mean that Batman may be facing none other than
The Catwoman in the next movie!
Julie Newmar,
Lee Meriwether,
Eartha Kitt,
Michelle Pfeiffer, and
Halle Berry were all fantastic as Catwoman, as were
Adrienne Barbeau,
Melendy Britt, and
Gina Gershon in the various animated series over the years.

However, this time I strongly believe
Lucy Lawless from
Xena Warrior Princess would be perfect for the role - she's beautiful, talented, can play diabolical, sexy, kittenish, nuts, all of Catwoman's facets. Have a look at these photos of Lucy in a catsuit from one of her concert DVDs - she just "purrs" Catwoman!

However, I've been thinking about characters who have yet to be re-imagined into the new Bat-Film franchise, and someone I would love to see return is...
Batgirl! I'm not sure who should play Batgirl this time, but
Yvonne Craig and
Alicia Silverstone were both brilliant, and fine performances were also given by talented voice actresses in various animated series (
Tara Strong,
Melissa Gilbert,
Mary Kay Bergman,
Melendy Britt, and
Danielle Judovits).

I was just thinking, another awesome story line for a future Batman film would be to have Batman still on the run from the law, only to discover he's not the only caped crimefighter in Gotham. There is a mysterious new Bat in town who more than makes up for their lack of wealth and resources in generous amounts of courage and fighting prowess. Somewhere along the line the two Bats meet, and it is discovered the newcomer is a BATGIRL, with the even more shocking revelation that she is
Barbara Gordon, daughter of Commissioner Gordon who is driven by a mixed sense of justice and thrill-seeking. Batman would have to try to convince Batgirl that she's not really suited to the "nightlife", at the same time trying to hide her identity from her father because it would look bad for Gordon to have a daughter who is a vigilante, and would make things more difficult for Batman himself as well. Even if they don't intend to bring back Robin, I think Batgirl would be a brilliant addition and workable in director Christopher Nolan's Bat-Verse. I think
Adrienne Wilkinson (who played
Livia/Eve in
Xena Warrior Princess) would be awesome. I thought Barbara could perhaps already be a college student, explaining her absence for the last two films - it's never been explicitly stated how many kids Gordon and his wife have, so an older daughter is not impossible or far-fetched. The heat on Gordon could be why Barbara Jr has come back to town, to watch over and protect her father from the shadows.

I shared my ideas with Adrienne herself and she answered:
****I would love that! From your lips to the director/producers ears! Would be awesome.
Thanks for sharing.
-Adrienne****Also, I don't know how many of you guys have seen the
Fallen trilogy with
Paul Wesley, and I won't spoil it for those who haven't, but it's very good, and Paul Wesley's central performance as a young man torn between his basic good nature, certain circumstances and changes in his life, and the discovery of his origin make me believe he could explore similar themes as Robin.

Here's more about Paul.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0913587/Jon Peter Lewis would also make an awesome Boy Wonder!

Interestingly, it appears that another likely contender for co-star villain in the next movie may be
The Riddler, and a popular casting choice seems to be
Michael C Hall.
