I've never heard of her. But I do have a list of books I'd like to read. I'll have to add a few of her books. Smile

I'm reading "Northanger Abbey" right now. But speaking of Jane Austen, has anyone seen "Becoming Jane"? I love that movie.

I saw an ad for that movie last night during the Emmys.

I got super excited.

It comes out on Nov. 16th.

Six Californians start a club to discuss the works of Jane Austen, only to find their relationships -- both old and new -- begin to resemble 21st century versions of her novels.

Sounds interesting!

What a coincidence! I just mentioned Jane Austen on another thread-and then I see this one! I listened to "Northanger Abbey" on tape by pure chance-I checked it out while browsing in the library one day. But I plan to read it-if it's that interesting on tape I can only imagine it would be doubly so just sit down and read it at leisure. Jane Austen had a mastery of the English launguage I love the way she writes! Smile
I was actually going to tag you Keiya Jade, but decided to tag someone else who hadn't been seen in a while. Flower

You are so right! "I'm going to start with "Northanger Abbey," then "Pride and Prejudice," or "Sense and Sensiblity," or whatever the library has in stock. Smile

injust bought the Jane Austen Book Club. It seems interesting so far, but I'm only 30 pages into it.

Count me in as another big Jane Austen fan. I haven't read Northanger Abbey either, and was just thinking about doing so. I'm slowly collecting as many of her books in hardbound as possible, and Barnes and Noble is helping, with their hard bound lower priced classics.

Betts01, It would be nice if you could find a really old copy of one her books; one that's falling apart at the seams. I love finding old books. They had different binding then. When the book came apart the binding was something like a coarse fabric, cheesclothe or something. If the covering of the book tore up, the binding would keep it together; they don't make books like that anymore! Smile

Oh yeah you do! I bawled like a little baby. Sad
All though watching the movie made her books make so much sense. How can you write like that if you can not get into the characters head. Great romance movie.

Anyone seen the "Jane Austin Book Club" yet? Any good?
