Okay, so I wasn't a 90's Kid, but my daughter was as she was born in 1984, so I remember a lot of these things. If you were a "kid" in the 90's (or the parent of a 90's kid) then you should remember them too.

You're a 90's kid if:

You can finish this [ice ice _ _ _ _ ]

You remember watching:
-Doug
-Ren & Stimpy
-Pinky and the Brain
-AAAAAAAH Real Monsters!
-Rockos modern Life.
-Gargoils

You've ever ended a sentence with the word "PSYCHE!"

You just cant resist finishing this . . . "Iiiiiiin west philidelphia born and raised . . ."

You remember:
-LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE!!!
-Step by Step
-Family Matters!!!
-Dinosaurs
-Boy Meets World!!!!
-Wild and Crazy Kids

You remember when it was actually worth getting up early on a Saturday to watch cartoons.

You got super excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at school.

You remember reading "Goosebumps"

You took plastic cartoon lunch boxes to school.

You still get the urge to say "NOT" after (almost) every sentence . . . not

when everyhting was settled by:
-rock paper scissors or
-bubble gum bubble gum in a dish or
-daddy had a donkey inky binky bonky.
-skunk in the barn yard
-ms. mary mack
-big mac a tea a tea

when cops and robbers was a daily activity.

when we played Hide and go seek until our legs grew numb.

when we used to obey our parents

You used to listen to the radio all day long just to record your FAVORITE song of ALL time.

"Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?" was both a game and a TV game show.

Captain Planet. He's a Hero.

You knew that Kimberly, the pink ranger, and Tommy, the green ranger, were meant to be together.

You remember when Super Nintendos and Sega Genisis became popular.

You always wanted to send in a tape to America's Funniest Home Videos . . . but never taped anything funny.

You remember watching Home Alone 1, 2 , and 3 . . . and tried to pull the pranks on "intruders"

You remember watching:
-The Magic School Bus
-Wishbone
-Reading Rainbow
-and Ghostwriter on PBS

You remember when Yo-Yos were cool.

You remember those Where's Waldo books.

You remember eating Warheads.

You remember watching:
-the 1st Batman
-Aladdin
-Ninja Turtles
-Animporphs
-ghost busters

you remember watching...
-my little pony tails
-gummi bears
-tail spin
-goof troop
-chip n' dail rescue rangers

You remember Ring Pops.

You remember drinking Surge, and Tang.

If you remember when every thing was "da BOMB!"

When they made the new lunchables so that you could make pizza AND tacos and you know what a squeezit is.

You remember boom boxes vs. cd players.

Making those little paper fortune cookie things, and then predicting your life with them.

You played and/or collected "Pogs" Smile

You had at least one Tamagotchi, GigaPet, or Nano and brought it everywhere.

one word. . . . . . . . Furbies.

You haven't always had a computer, and it was cool to have the internet.

And Windows 95 was the best.

You watched the original cartoons of Rugrats, Power Rangers, and Ninja Turtles.

Michael Jordan was a king.

YIKES pencils and erasers were the stuff!

All your school supplies were "Lisa Frank" brand.

You remember when the new Beanie Babies and Talking Elmo were always sold out

You collected those Beanie Babies.

Carebears

Gak was the coolest stuff invented.

Lambchop's song never ended.

The old dollar bills.

Silver dollars, which were cool to have.

Everyone watched the WB and yelled at people who interupred them.

You collected all the Troll dolls

If you even know what an original walkman is.

You remember wanting to sit on the orange Nickelodeon couch.

You've gotten creeped out by "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"

You know the Macarena by heart.

"Talk to the hand" . . . enough said

You always said, "Then why don't you marry it!"

You went to McDonald's to play in the playplace.

You remember playing on merry go rounds at the playground.

Before the MySpace frenzy . . .

Before the Internet & text messaging . . .

Before Sidekicks & iPods . . .

Before MIKE JONES . . .

Before PlayStation2 or X-BOX . . .

Before Spongebob . . .

Back when you put off the 5 hours of homework you had every night.

When light up sneakers were cool.

When you rented VHS tapes, not DVDs.

When gas was $0.95 a gallon & Caller ID was a new thing.

When we recorded
stuff on VCRs.

When we called the radio station to request songs to hear off of our walkman.

When checking out drawing books and that one book about the rainbow fish from the library was THE cool thing to do.

You had slap bracelets!

Way back.

Before we realized all this would eventually disappear.

Who would have thought you'd miss the 90's so much!!!!!

Wow, I remember a lot of that stuff (I was born in '86, so I was 4 when the 90s began). I especially remember the shows like Step by Step and Family Matters and the cartoons and such on PBS. I also remember Oregon Trail days in computer class. LOL. Yeah, what can I say, I actually miss some of the aspects of the 90's....like Saturday morning cartoons that were actually worth watching. Wink

Ok I think I'm gonna make some comments Wink

LOL Ice Ice BABY!!! Vanilla Ice Ice Baby Wink He was totally the man back in the day...

Doug was cool when it was on Nick.. once he went to Disney, he wasn't as cool.. I even had the Doug's First Movie Wink Skeeter was by far the best charactor on that show..

Ren & Stimpy... LOL loved the song...

Pinky and the Brain... So much cooler than Animaniacs, but wouldn't have made it with out them.. They're Pinky and the Brain, Pinky and the Brain.. One is a genius, the other insane, They're laboratory mice, their genes have been spliced, they're dinky, they're Pinky and the Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain.. NARF!!! Wink

Rocko's Modern Life was cool too.. didn't really get into AAAAAAAH Real Monters! myself...

Now this is the story all about how
My life got flipped, turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute just sit right there
I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel-Air

In west Philadelfia born and raised
On the playground where I spent most of my days
Chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool
And all shooting some b-ball outside of school
When a couple of guys said 'we're up to no good'
Started making trouble in my neighbourhood
I got in one little fight and my mom got scared
And said 'You're moving with your Aunte and Uncle in Bel-Air'

I begged and pleaded with her the other day
But she packed my suitcase and sent me on my way
She gave me a kiss and she gave me my ticket
I put my walkman on and said 'I might as well kick it'

First class, yo this is bad,
Drinking orange juice out of a champagne glass
Is this what the people of Bel-Air livin' like,
Hmm this might be alright!

I whistled for a cab and when it came near
The license plate said 'fresh' and had dice in the mirror
If anything I could say that this cab was rare
But I thought now forget it, yo home to Bel-Air

I pulled up to a house about seven or eight
And I yelled to the cabby 'yo, home smell you later'
I looked at my kingdom I was finally there
To settle my throne as the prince of Bel-Air

Legends of the Hidden Temple was cool... Step by Step.. LOL I remember that theme song too... Family Matters... Steve Urkel was like a god... Wink Dinosaurs.. FUNNY.. Boy Meets World, I had the biggest crush on Shawn Tongue and Wild and Crazy Kids was cool too...

I kicked butt at Oregon Trail!!

We still use Rock Paper Scissors at work... lol but one of my favorites of those was the one about Susie...

Miss Susie had a steamboat
The steamboat had a bell
When Susie went to heaven
The steamboat went to
Hello operator, give me number nine
And if you disconnect me
I'll kick you right behind
The refridgerator there lay a piece of glass
Miss Susie slipped upon it and broke her little
Ask me no more questions
Tell me no more lies
The boys are in the bathroom zipping up their
Flies are in the meadow,
The bees are in the park
All the little boys and girls
Are kissing in the dark, dark, dark!
The dark is like the movies
The movie's like a show
The show is like the TV.,
And that is all I know
I know, I know my mother
I know, I know my pa
I know, I know my sister
With the forty acre bra

or the other verison of that that was:

Miss Susie had a baby
She named his Tiny Tim
She put him in the bathtub
To see if he could swim
He drank up all the water
He ate up all the soap
He tired to eat the bathtub
But it wouldn't go down his throat
He floated up the river
He floated down the lake
And now Miss Susie's baby
Has got a bellyache
Miss Susie called the doctor
The doctor called the nurse
The nurse called the lady
With the alligator purse
"Measles," said the doctor
"Mumps," said the nurse
"A virus," said the lady
With the alligator purse
"Penicillin," said the doctor
"Bes rest," said the nurse
"Pizza," said the lady
With the alligator purse
"He'll live," said the doctor
"He's all right," said the nurse
"I'm leaving," said the lady
With the alligator purse
"I don't want the doctor,
I dont' want the nurse,
I want the lady,
With the alligator purse"
Miss Susie gave me peaches
And then she gave me pears
And then she gave me fifty cents
And kicked me up the stairs
My mother was born in England,
My father was born in France,
And I was born in diapers
Because I didn't have any pants!

Cops and Robbers was like the daily activity of our neighborhood...

I also kicked butt at Carmen San Diego... And I always wanted to go on that show...

My older brother made fun of me for watching Captain Planet...

Super NES... We never got... We went from the original NES to a Playstation.. I know I know.. there was a long time in between...

We had videos that we wanted to send in to America's Funniest Home Videos, but never got the chance to... We so would have won too...

Saw Home Alone 1 and 2, lost interest by the time 3 came along.. Favorite one is 2 though.. I love the brick scene.. "Suck brick kid!"

Where's Waldo was awesome... I was good at those...

Warheads.. LOL yummy

Batman... Awesome... Aladdin, loved Abu!!! Ninja Turtles... I met them Wink (They had guys in the costumes signing autographs at the video store and giving out stickers.. along with pizza and pop... FOR FREE)... Ghost Busters.. LOL The Marshmellow Man!!!

lol, Jolie, I remember those last two songs too, but not all the lyrics like you. When I was a kid we sang, "Midnight on the Ocean". There are a lot of versions of that song, but the one my family sang went like this: (I know, weird I still remember this)

It was midnight on the ocean,
Not a trolly car in sight.
So I stepped into the market
to get myself a light.
Now the man behind the counter
was a lady old and grey
Who used to peddle shoestrings
in a junky model A.

Singing,
"Eenie meenie mennie, miney moe
catch a hecker pecker by the toe,
and if he hollers hollers hollers,
let him go.
Hey boy roll'em, hey boy roll em' home.

I woke up early this morning
Surprised at what I saw.
The bedbugs and the roaches
were having a game of ball.
Now the score was 19-20
the roaches were ahead.
The bedbugs hit a homerun
and knocked me out of bed!

Singing,
"Eenie meenie mennie, miney moe
catch a hecker pecker by the toe,
and if he hollers hollers hollers,
let him go.
Hey boy roll'em, hey boy roll em' home.

Actually Paula, I couldn't remember how we ended the first one so I googled it.. And that was what I found, but that's not how we ended it... We actually sang it (and did the hand thinger) like this:

Miss Susie had a steamboat
The steamboat had a bell
When Susie went to heaven
The steamboat went to
Hello operator, give me number nine
And if you disconnect me
I'll kick you right behind
THe refridgerator, there lay a piece of glass
Miss Susie slipped upon it and broke her little
Ask me no more questions
Tell me no more lies
The boys are in the bathroom zipping up their
Flies are in the garden,
The bees are in the hive
Sorry operator you gave me number five
Miss Susie dyed her hair pink
Miss Susie dyed her hair purple
She dyed it orange with polka-dots
And washed it down the sink...

Wow... that's a long list! I still have my walkman, baybeh. I was never into most of this stuff though... heh, ninja turtles aside! I did have a certain level of horrid fascination with the "Must See TEEVEE" block.

quote:
Captain Planet. He's a Hero.
Made me LOL.

What on earth is Legends of the Hidden Temple? And is there any living generation which doesn't rely on Rock Paper Scissors to bring peace and order to interpersonal conflicts? Wink

Oh, I use to do that too. The one song I almost always tried to record was "Roll to Me" by Del Amitri. That was one of my favorite songs of the 90s. However, they play that song at work so much now I'm starting to get tired of it (although I still love it).
