Ok, so I know we have a lot of threads on here for venting and ranting, but I thought it might be nice to have a thread to post the little things that happen to you during the day that make you happy, that make you smile or that literally make your day.

So, what makes your day?

Getting a really sweet compliment from a friend always makes my day.

It makes my day when my daughter tells me I am the best mom ever.

When my nephew comes down the stairs in the middle of the night, just to tell me he loves me...

Having my mocha made perfectly here at school...Because I really need the coffee today.

My boss gave me a huge basket with goodies and a beautiful card telling me how special I am to him. That made my day yesterday!

having a good dream before i wake up. that always gets me through the day thinking about it. or if i'm reading a good book

Having just about every little thing make me smile makes my day. Like today getting an A on my history midterm that I worked my rear off on, and then having a great conversation with a good friend of mine.

Yesterday my mom gave me my Easter basket and she bought me RENT on dvd. That is one of my favorite musicals and I could not find the dvd anywhere!! I was glad she bought it for me and I've watched it 4 times since I got it. It really made me happy.

Mine is going to be a two part post...


First: Today being the day after Easter, all the candy was cheap... So I bought a lot of it and then handed it out to the people I work with... And you know what SHARING really makes me happy and makes my day....


Second: While I was sharing... One of the people I gave candy to said "Thanks Gorgeous" and that really made my day

Also it makes my day when I come home and I can't sleep and so I sign onto this site and see a PM from luvs

I do have a cool little story that made my day when my sister told me about a lady she has been corresponding with. Several years ago when her children were young they would drive by this one house on the way to their other grandma's and this one house on the way always had very beautiful fresh flowers or flowering plants in the big pictue window and the curtains open so you could see the flowers. She would always slow down and she and her kids would look to see what kind of flowers she had that day. So .. one day, my sister sent her a card telling her how much she and her kids had enjoyed her flowers over the years and how it was part of the trip to grandma's house to look at her flowers. They referred to her as "The Flower Lady". My sister included her return address and phone and The Flower Lady called her and said that getting that card brought her to tears because all those years she put out the flowers, she was only the second person to ever comment on them. So now they exchange greating cards now and then. The Flower Lady and her husband are in their 80's and still take and extended vacation every winter to someplace warm and she has a caretaker put flowers in the window even when she is not home. While I was at my sister's house this weekend, she received a post card from Hawaii from her. I drove past The Flower Lady's house on my way home and the caretaker had big beautiful Hawaiian flowers in the window!

My sister only lives a few miles away from her and they have never met in person, they have only chatted on the phone and exchanged cards and letters in the mail. I guess they do plan on meeting for lunch soon, finally.

Have you gone to the restaurant? I went there back in Florida, and it's so funny. haha.

Anyway. What makes my day. I love the family conversations we have and laugh at the most stupid things. It's hard to explain -- but Jana knows what I'm talking about. We sometimes just end up (all 7 of us) in my parents bedroom, chatting about the news, entertainment, American Idol, school, what we want to do tomorrow, etc. It's fun. I Love it.

Yeah, the restaurant is called Bubba Gump's Shrimp Company and the food is AWESOME!
