So, I'm surprised to say that after two weeks of rehearsals I am prepared and ready for tonight. I'm happy how we've come together and put this thing together... Last night we put on a preview show for Press and VIP's. It went well and I'm feeling confident. So....wish me luck.
Good Luck Jon! But I don't think you'll need luck. You are a natural performer and audiences love you. Soooo.. I hope you have an excellent opening night!

Wish we could all be there to support you tonight. Hope it's a great show. I know you'll do well!

Well I was going to act all fancy pants to say the other thing, but then I thought about it and even in French it is still swearing so… maybe on your myspace. If there are any nerves about tonight JP, just know you’ll do wonderfully. You always do.
And to anyone that gets to go:
I SO WANT TO SEE THIS! PLEASE GET THIS ON SOMETHING, ANYTHING SO WE CAN SEE IT TOO! PRETTY PRETTY PLEASE.

LOL So do you think he said that when he first stepped out???

But to save you some time, I'll post the ones with Jon in them here:

I think these are great pictures. Hope they don't mind that I posted them here. If so, I will remove them and just post the link.

I am a brat! I know I am and that is ok, I accept me for me!
But see when I say I “WANT” something… what I really mean is I “NEED” it. I NEED to see this play/musical because I WANT to see it. Does that make sense to anyone? It really is a NEED that most people consider a WANT but for ME again it is a NEED.
In that link Paula (thanks again Paula!) gave for the pictures !!!THERE IS AWAY TO EMAIL!!! Redland’s Civic Light Opera. I know not everyone will have the time that reads this but “May you !PLEASE! send them a nice little email asking for this to be taped and put on DVD?” Please. I will love you forever and ever and ever and ever and ever………
Thanks for those photos Paula. They are terrific. Jon has just the right look on his face for each scene.
And Kat, when I saw you wishing so earnestly that you could see the play, I decided to call them this afternoon to see if they had any plans to sell a DVD or CD. The nice woman who answered the phone asked me if I had seen the show last night. When I told her that I was a fan of Jon's and that his fans would like to see the show, she said, with real enthusiasm in her voice, "Oh Jon is doing a wonderful job. They all are. But Jon is doing really well." That is a rough paraphrase, but gets the gist of what she said to me as one of Jon's fans. I then did my best to make a case for a DVD or CD, explaining that there would be a market for such a thing. She said that they always tape one performance of each show, so it might be possible. She also indicated that she would bring the idea up with the appropriate people. I sure hope they can work it out, and nobody irrationally nixes the idea. I've been to choir performances before where they had set up a table and took orders for the CD and then mailed them out sometime after the show. Not only would we buy this, but also the audience could order in their enthusiasm right after seeing the show.
On the Redlands Civic Light Opera myspace, they are playing a song from Godspell, but it doesn't have Jon in it. If they can't do a whole CD, I certainly hope they would put up some of Jon's songs on MySpace like that. Is that too much to ask? I think not.
So I'm thinking, "What is wrong with jazz hands?" They are far better than standing there woodenly on stage. There aren't all that many things you can have a group of performers do on stage. Jazz hands are a theatrical convention that works in certain contexts.

I have been to many theater performances and I recall seeing some video taped. So I was thinking they would possibly tape one of the shows. I will email them as well to see if they would consider making extra copies to sell. I know that theaters are always looking for a way to make an extra buck or two, so if we collectively show our enthousiasm for purchasing a video.. we might succeed in getting what we want. A video for Kat! Ahem, and for all who want one as well.

Opening night was a huge success. Jon was superb in his starring role and the rest of the cast was equally fantastic. The audience loved it and the shows are selling out.
The role is really phenomenal for Jon as the songs are perfectly suited for his incredible voice. Jon's performance is funny, heartfelt and very moving.
