That's Hawaiian for Merry Christmas by the way. I love Bette Midler's cover version on her Cool Yule Christmas CD.
Our good friend Tom Fischer, who hosts the Tripodder.com radio network, has created another awesome podcast, this time featuring Val Kilmer singing his holiday tune Christmas Is Calling.
Head on over to Tom's (see the link below) and listen to Val's musical magic, or magical music, whichever you prefer. There are other awesome songs by other wonderful performers too, so grab a seat and enjoy them now, and have a Cool Yule, y'all!
I did so want to have Jon's Christmas tunes featured on Tom's podcast, but as he was away with family (as it should be at Christmas), I was able to contact Val instead through his manager, Jacque (a lot like our good friend Judy) who has permission to authorise any use of Val's music for airplay and she did so for Tom and myself.
Val did later send me a message himself wishing me a Merry Christmas and all, so I imagine he was happy with all this.
I listened to the podcast last night Mikey. It was fun! Great job getting Val on there!

The Christmas Podcast featuring Val Kilmer that Tom hosted was a success, which was nice to hear. It was lovely of Val to agree to have his song on the radio. The other artists, perhaps not as well-known as Val, but certainly not less talented, they thought it was a blast. Tom E-Mailed me his thanks and offered me to join the Tripodder.com team.
Here was his message:
****Michael,
I'm grateful for you, my friend! You have contributed something so special to our Christmas episode with Val Kilmer...the other artists on the episode all say what an honor it is to be featured in the same show as Val.
You're truly a part of the Tripodder.com team! You're awesome. Lets chat more soon I gotta run.
Cheers, Tom****
My response was as follows:
****Hey Tom
Thanks for the kind words and friendship. I'll be glad to do anything to help you and Tripodder in any way I can. I really can't take any credit for the success of the podcast though - you did all the hard work putting the show together and doing all the techno-stuff I wouldn't have a clue how to do. Plus there was Val and all the other wonderfully talented artists who actually performed along with you as the host. I just wrote messages to people!
Still, if you really want me, I'm here for you.
Cheers, Michael****
Tom and the artists involved are the real magic behind any success the show might have had, and would have been even if I hadn't been able to get Val on board. Besides, anyone can send an E-Mail. I'm not really sure what was so special about what I did, but it's nice to have encouragement.
Awe that is so nice Mikey. It seems your contribution was appreciated by a lot of people. I'm glad Tom took the time to recognize you for that.

I actually scored an interview for Tom with Val Kilmer, which actually hasn't been conducted yet. Val's online manager Jacque (who handles Val's business stuff when he's busy) agreed to forward mine and Tom's request to Val's new publicist, so hopefully things will work out well and Tom will get to interview Val.
I really am an Ambassador! Maybe that's been my calling all along!
