Ha...hard to say. I'm not sure what your favorite flavor of Beck is. Smile Wahoo thought the tunes she sampled sounded "pretty out there", but I find this one to be pretty subtle in comparison to many of his other works.

Guerro was the first Beck album I ever bought (thanks Mish!) and I LOVE it. When I heard about the new tunes, I listened to the snippets on itunes and was pretty weirded out by them....I did actually download 1 song that I really like (can't remember the title right now though...Bug!). Anyway, after seeing the live performance on SNL I am newly intrigued. The crazy tambourine guy, the puppets, and the table thing were AWESOME!!! Now I'm willing to give the songs another listen. The whole performance was fascinating.

Beck also performed "Nausea" on Letterman last night and I really enjoyed it. The puppets were gone, but tambourine man was there in all his glory. Now I really wanna see Beck live. I'll have to catch him on tour soon!

been hanging around youtube and am having a serious beck moment i had to share...lol.

culturally there's not too many people to compare beck to...i think he confuses people by how fluidly he knits together such divirsity. he's a musical collage artist - at home is so many genres. he digs around in the cultural trash of our society, dragging its depravity and beauty together into the light - somehow blending them together to create a series of musical masterpieces. each song is amazing in itself, but the whole body of his work taken together is really beyond compare.

his recent album, 'The Information', was definately a fabulous addition to the body of his work. it is more subtle than 'guero' but no less grand.
