James Collins is an actor, songwriter, and sometimes singer in Toronto, Canada. He became a fan of Jon Peter Lewis’s vocals on American Idol and knew there was great potential for an excellent collaboration between them.

The result of their first joint effort is the single “It’s Christmas,” released on a Christmas compilation album by Warner, EMI, and Universal called “NOW! Christmas 2.” This popular annual series features a wide array of artists from various genres. The current 2 CD set includes: Rob Thomas, Weezer, Reba McEntire, Stevie Wonder, Anne Murray, Michael Buble, Bing Crosby, Burl Ives, Natalie Cole, Nat King Cole, and many more. The CD should be available in stores in Canada and will be available to the rest of the world via the web.

James has had success with his own music both in Canada and abroad. His ballad, "Good Enough (To Love)" just recently peaked at # 2 on Quebec's Pop Adult Anglophone Top 25 chart (Le Palmares). He has a new single, “Since Tina Moved In,” that is receiving media attention, and also a new album on the way called “ The Messenger.”

On another musical note, you may have already seen James without knowing it. He played the lead father character in Nickelback's video of the worldwide # 1 rock hit, “Too Bad.”

Although it's not a musical credit, I just have to add that James has also been seen on the Canadian comedy series "Kids In The Hall."

I love that show Smile

Interesting. I'm glad he has such good taste in musicSmile It's very cool that he was impressed with jon's ability. It looks like he's got a nice resume himself.

James, I have been wondering just what all you do. I know you have done engineering work and producing work, but I have not ever understood what each of those jobs involves. I also would like to know about other songs you have written. Finally, what else musical do you do we should know about?

So, James...what is your favorite line of the song? They are all great lyrics, so it's sort of a no-lose choice Smile

Thanks for all your kind comments on "It's Christmas."
Jon is an incredible talent...I'm looking forward to writing with him again. He's also very inspiring to be around.
He's destined for a wonderful future.
"It's Christmas" is also shaping up to be a huge hit in Canada for the month of December (and hopefully every year to come). Radio up here is loving it!!!

Hi again. Do you have any new projects you can tell us about?

Any thoughts on Jon you'd like to share? Like when you first noticed his incredible voice, talent, potential, etc.

James, how did you and Jon come up with the idea for a Christmas love song. We are amazed to realize there are hardly any. Considering how many love songs and Christmas songs there are, it's strange that this niche hasn't been developed more.
