Hey Guys Smile

There is a great guy named Gregory Michael (he prefers to be called Greg though) who has a band called Auxburn (pronounced "Auburn"). He's a singer, songwriter, a guitarist, and an actor! He appears in a supernatural show called Dante's Cove which I haven't seen yet, but it appears to be about warlocks and such interesting things... Wink

Anyway, Auxburn is set to release an album sometime this year, and from I read on his website, Greg is a really sweet guy who loves Disney movies among other cool stuff, and actually once worked in a Disney theme park! Smile

I'm going to support him and his music, which sounds great! Smile

The band members are:

Greg Michael - Vocals, Rhythm Guitar
Sunny Malick - Drums
Ben Di Renzo - Lead Guitar
James Lent - Keyboard

Here are a few links to Greg's MySpace and website, and Auxburn's MySpace. Smile

Here are a couple of quotes from Greg in an interview I read:

****About his gay character Kevin Archer in Dante's Cove: "I really don't care what anyone thinks, as long as I'm true to myself; comfortable with myself. I've always been very comfortable with myself, and that's given me the support to be able to play Kevin. There needs to be equality – Kevin exudes a lot of love, and gets a lot of support; everyone loves Kevin. Even if they (the writers) change Kevin, I'll fall in love with any changes because it'll still be Kevin. I just love Kevin, and always will."

"I am that kind of person who would like to sing you to sleep. Even my friends, I would do it for them; I just love to sing that much. That, and Disney. Not everyone knows I love everything Disney."

"Children ARE our future. We should nurture every soul, 'cause it's what makes our future survive. Anything I can do to give children as many opportunities as possible makes me happy. I just feel that if we as actors have that by-product of celebrity to help someone else, that's great."

About being asked for an autograph by fans: "My first reaction is Oh my God, you are kidding me! It's still a shock when it happens, because I am still the guy wanting to ask for autographs! It's humbling. It's great;, it's awesome. It makes you more human to know that people admire you."

If Gregory Michael the actor/singer is still remembered in a hundred years, he wants it to be for: "Leaving a message – hopefully a good one – that I kind of changed the world in some way. That I was an advocate for children and equality, and in some way changed the world."****

The album which is tentatively titled Spring Sessions may feature the following songs:

Sweet Romance
Home Sweet Home
Morning Rises Sunday
A Little Bit
Falling Rain
Goodbye Goodbye
Don't Walk Away
All Bets Are Off

Greg reminds me a lot of our own Jon in personality, so when I wrote to Greg, I naturally mentioned Jon and our little family here! I'll let you know if and when Greg writes back, as he's quite busy now with the band and his acting career. Smile

Cheers, Mikey Smile
