Okay, I'm a little late getting this out. This week's band of the week is AnchondO. They hail from Omaha, NE.
The band got its name from frontman Hector Anchondo (Guitar/Vocals). Other members include Adam on bass, Big G on guitar and a new drummer by the name of Jeremy. The fifth but lesser-seen member is Jason. Jason is their manager. You can find him at the merch table most shows.
Yes, Anchondo is a Mexican name. The band tends to have a lot of Latin sound, but also some definite ska and punk influences.
They have a really nice website. If you click on Media you can listen to song bits and buy them if you so desire. I recommend the Lesbian song, if you appreciate the homour. Otherwise She Devil is very popular.
Anchondo has released two albums, Rookies of the Year and The Audience is waiting. I believe they're both available at http://www.cdbaby.com They are currently recording an album due out in December-ish.
I have a pal here who would really love to go with me to a concert if they played around here. I'll have to send her this link so she can check them out.
I am busy! man i am always busy on the days when good bands are playing. I must tell you though after listening to them the other night i had a dream that i went to a concert and got to meet you. it was fun!
Where is pomeroy playing? and what time?? I can try to see if my husband wants to come out but he likes to watch the husker games. i know it is an early game but most the time he is not in a condition that i would want to take him out by the end of it. if you know what i mean!!

Hey, thanks for the MySpace link. I will add them. This reminds me of music I used to hear in CO when I was in grad school. Fun, raspy tunes for hippy dancing .

Knickerbockers. Probably 9-ish. I think Electric Soul Method is opening. They're really good. Pomeroy will hit the stage 11 or 11:30

RHS...crazy, again, that you know of Anchondo. I know all about them as well. Amsterband was supposed to play a show with them in Omaha over the Summer, but things fell through and we had to do something else last minute. Wow. I'm so thrilled that someone else here knows of Pomeroy & Anchondo!
