I absolutely LOVE the music video for
Head Over Heels by
The Go-Go's. There are so many brilliant nuances that make this video a true gem. I love how
Jane Wiedlin dances up to
Gina Schock as if to say "Howdy", and Gina smiles and rolls her eyes affectionately, as well as Gina's bemused expression when the jewelled ring on her finger becomes a scarab beetle.
Also hot were
Belinda Carlisle's awesome dance moves,
Kathy Valentine's bouncing up and down on the spot and Jane's dance at the end...but my favourite part of all is when the keys fly off the keyboard and our piano gal
Charlotte Caffey's face is like
and is classic!
I love Char's keyboard style in the song as well as Jane's guitar twangs (Char is also a fantastic guitarist), Kathy's bass beat, and Gina's heart-thumping drumming. Belinda sounds bubbly and cute as well.
Fashion wise, Belinda and Jane look cute in gray tracksuits (these girls can make any clothes look HOT), Kathy looks cool in her schoolgirl outfit and I LOVE the hair, and Gina looks fresh and wholesome in blue gingham, but I must say that the loveliest lady in this video is Charlotte! That black and green ensemble she wore and her famous Charlotte-shag hairstyle were really classy and elegant, and I think that's when she became my favourite. All The Go-Go's are beautiful and talented of course, but Charlotte was really glamorous in this video and looked like a billion dollars.
Jane's scenes where she watches the romantic couple on the TV screen were adorable, especially when she looked like she was going to kiss someone. My sister says Jane looked like a young
Elizabeth Taylor in that video.
