I love Living on A Prayer and Blaze of Glory (among others). All this talk is bringing back memories of watching Young Guns, so nobody better than Jon Bon Jovi for that song. It was awesome seeing him last night and on the comments of how he's looking lately, I think some men just look better as they age...although he's always been hot.

That's a cool quote.. JBJ ROCKS!

Yes he is. And yes he has.

The entire band interacts with the audience...that is if you can take your eyes off Jon. You could be at the back of Giants Stadium and you'll swear that he is looking directly at you. It's something you have to expierence for yourself. I've been to 16 concerts so far and I'll never get tired of them.
Wow, if you've been to 16 concerts, the they must impressive live!

Also, I have been wondering something for a while now and I am wondering if you noticed the same thing being such an avid JBJ fan. OK, when he can back from his acting hiatus, did you notice that he sang differently? It's like he sings out of his nose now...or that he tenses his lips and throat too much. I'm not sure what it is but on "It's my life" he sounds like a different singer from his earlier songs. Even singing the earlier stuff, he sounds different. What's up with that? Any idea? And just my opinion, but I like the way he used to sound a heck of a lot better than he sounds now. But don't get me wrong, he is still hot. Please don't be mad at me for this post.
When they win awards the others usually say something, also but I'm sure they all collaborated on the speach because of time constraints. It isn't everyday that you win a Merit Award so everybody had to be thanked and Jon is usually the spokesperson of the group. About his voice, you know as you get older some singers just can't hit those high notes as well as they used to. He has been singing in a lower register for a few years now and that may be why the older songs don't sound the same. Having been with them continuously throughout this I guess I just never noticed it. Also, Jon has very bad allergies and a lot of times he sounds like he's singing through his nose, there is nothing he can do about that.

I just have to share this with other BJ fans on this board so please bare with me. I just got the newly released box set from BJ and in it there is a booklet of about 60 pages. Usually albums' booklets contain the words to the song but this is a special milestone for BJ, 20 yrs. and 100,000,000 albums sold. In this booklet are testimonials submitted by the fans and lots of pictures of the boys thoughtout the years. The introduction is by Jon and I'm just going to post this part because it has great advice.
"You see, all I ever wanted to do was share our music with as many people as possible for as long as possible. Every kid dreams of this job. It is a pretty good one. But for that lucky few who ever get a chance to make their own music or ever make their own record, it's amazing. Anyone in it also knows it's a fickle business full of the ghosts who have had a chance and either blown it or watched it get taken away. We've been blessed. I know it. Don't think I'm not aware that it was you. Yes, you (the one with this paper in your hand). YOU who kept me in a job. Thanks, We've always done the best we could."
Jon also wrote a letter I would like to quote also that brought me to tears.
"May your ship always sail May your stars always shine May you dreams all come true With someone by your side May your smile never fade And your battles be won May you stay young forever And never give up Live Each Day, What more can i say...
I send you my love," And Jon signed it with his signature.
By the way, included in this boxed set are 38 never-before-released songs and 1 DVD of exclusive interviews & behind-the-scenes footage.
They are also being featured in Nov. 20th Billboard magazine. It's a must buy for BJ fans.
I've only been able to listen to 2 cd's so far but I really like what I'm hearing. These are not polished songs. A lot are Demos only and in one you can hear that Jon has a head cold (but he sounds very sexy like that).

Gosh Pattie, that brought tears to my eyes too. What a guy. I just hope our other Jon reaches that pinacle someday, cause I know he'll know that we were all there for him too!
Here's some random BJ info. You know I get up very early in the mornings, and I watch Don Imus. He was mentioning a charity function that his friend, Delbert McClintonwas sponsoring, and BJ was going to be there. He says he was lost in the 80's and he wasn't familiar with BJ! LOL, he was really lost. Well his crew started telling him all the great songs they've put out and so on. Well, this morning his lead in to the show was BJ!

Pattie, The DJ's I listen to all the time were raving about the release (just went on sale yesterday, right?) That and the Jimmy Buffett compilation (strange combo, I know) are on my list for whenever I have money again!

I am really enjoying the box set. The DVD that comes with it is awesome. The band explains the background of a lot of the songs. Just be careful and check out the bonjovi.com site and listen to the snippets of each song before you buy it. This was made expressly for the die hard fans and you must remember that these are songs that did not make it on any album and there were reasons why they didn't make it. The band thought they weren't the best to put on an album at the time. I didn't have time to digest the entire 50 songs yet but I did find a lot that I do like already. But it is a lot of money to spend without first sampling it a little.

Well, I guess the voice is something that I'd have to listen to with you and point out what I am talking about because it is hard to explain. I even notice that his mouth moves differently when he sings. I'm odd, I watch peoples mouths when they sing. I get really lost it in sometimes. Anyway....I've always been a fan of JBJ, I think he and the band are very talented, I just had to ask about the change I noticed when they got back together and released "It's my life."

Patti, I'm sure you are aware of this, but I thought I would mention it to you just in case. (This is a merge of two different thread on this board )
Did you know that JBJ is taking part in this seasons Real World on MTV. The "kids" are taking part in his project with the Philedelphia Soul to build playgrounds for children in Philly. He has been on the show, I think twice. And two of the boys in the house ADORE Jon. They are in awe of him when they are in the same room as him. It was funny to watch. (and they are straight boys too!)
Anyway...just thought I'd let you know in case you didn't already.

I only saw the 1st time Jon was on the show. It was on the RealWorld website. Thanks for telling me he was on a second time, I'll have to go see if it's on the site again.
awesome. Glad you knew (and I knew you had to know already!!). Neat that you were at that game. I love that they are building parks for kids. Good man JBJ is!!

Actually, doing charity work for the city of Philadelphia is in the Philly Soul contract. The players and cheerleaders are required to make appearances to help raise money for the city charities. I'm not sure if that's the way it is for all the Arena Football teams or just the Soul.

That's what I mean by saying "Good man JBJ is!!" I think it's great that he requires that. But you might be right about it being a league requirement. Either way, I love it.

Well after listening to this box set for 3 days straignt, I take back what I said above. Don't bother sampling it, just buy it. I saw a review in one of the papers that said Bon Jovi's discards are better than most artists released records (or words to that effect) They rated it a B+. I can't get enough and with 50 songs altogether there's a lot of songs to choose from. I haven't skipped over any of them yet.
"The radio saved my life tonight The old song that that DJ played made me feel alright."
