Jon and Ben just called to inform me they are having Internet problems. Jon said that they almost had things fixed and they would be on momentarily. We apologize for the delay.

Hey everyone, I was just looking at the questions and I noticed that there were a lot of people here today that haven't posted much before, so I thought I'd get to them first.

1. Hi Jon. Hey--fun interview with the Jaded. Your apartment is really sweet—very sunny and open And you have a balcony--COOL. I dug your groovy flip-flops too. Anyway, I have a question about a poster you have hanging in your kitchen. It came into view when the camera was on Jaded’s guitar-playing sidekick during the jamming bit. That poster looks so familiar to me—with the guy sort of leaning against the wall, and there is a word—it looks like “Doom”. Anyway, is that a concert poster? For a Ska band maybe? Any details would be appreciated and will stop me from obsessively rewinding and zooming in over and over again to figure it out. Ha. I'm impressed that you are learning the sitar.

2. I love your vocals on “Turn to Grey”. I knew you were a good singer, but this song proves what I suspected--that you are a fantastic singer who can interpret a song with skill and subtlety. I imagine, that when you play it live, the arrangement will be different. Have you and Ben worked up a version of this song for your band yet? Will the live version have more of a “rock” vibe than the studio version?

3. I hope you sing “Crazy Love” in Idaho. By the way, the Harem will be in the house for your Idaho gig. We promise to behave. .

mj from teh Harem

Okay the mystery is..... I really don't know who the band is. I think it's an old record insert. It says selector on it, so maybe that's the band. You were right about the Ska part, though. My brother was really into that in the mid 80s and kind of passed that on to the rest of us. I found the picture in an old box in his garage. I liked the picture and the caption. It says, "too much pressure".

When we play "Turn to Grey" live, or any other song for that matter it'll all kind of depend on the combination of the band, the insturments available and the vibe of the venue, I imagine.

thanks and I look forward to seeing you in Idaho. It'll be a great show

Are you going to be playing mostly original music at your show in Rexburg? or will you do covers, too?

I always read about people wanting you to sing Brown-eyed Girl or other Van Morrison songs, any plans to sing something like that?

Please tell me there will be a video available to buy for those of us who can't go!

There probably won't be a video, but the good news is is that I won't be going away any time soon either, so I hope to catch you another time

I wanted to say more but I got a little too exited over the "post now" button.

I'll be playing mostly original music, but I'll have some covers in there too, maybe a vanmorrison tune. People won't be dissapointed

Hi Jon. As you can tell, I'm your number one fan, LOL.

Did you write Turn to Grey about someone? You don't have to tell who its' about, but I wondered if it was about a specific person or more just about being in love.

turn to grey was originally written for someone who had the nickname, may, but over time it was rewritten, more than once. So the song, for as short as it is, spans a large period of time.

Hi Jon,
I am a huge fan of yours and I cant wait till your CD comes out! You have a really great voice you sounded great on the samples on here! What are your top 3 favorite bands? Also what was your favorite preformance during American Idol?

Top three bands are hard to choose. The first is easy, the beatles. I've been listening to Van Morrison a lot again lately and a lot of Otis Redding too.

Hi Jon it's Kara. I love your music so much. I listen to your CD at work all the time!

Anyways, are you thinking about coming to Minnesota anytime to perform?? I'm afraid to fly so I can't come see you ever though I would in a heartbeat! It's a little chilly, but you'll make it!

Also my favorite band ever is the Bealtes...and I know you like them too, but what is your all time favorite song by them?? I have too many, but one on top would be Rocky Raccoon.

I think I need to start wearing a shirt that says "Where's JPL?" until you come visit Minnesota! Keep up the great work. I hope to hear from you soon!!

thanks Kara. I like it, Maybe you should design it and we'll sell it on the site.
I like "I'm looking through you" a lot right now. About the tour, well I'm guessing that will be set up by someone else. I'll probably go on the road with another band with a larger billing, but minnesota seems like a good place to go.

Hi Jon,

I have a question about the red carpet contest. What event will it be for? If you can't say yet, that is fine, but if I win, would an evening gown be appropriate attire?

One more question ... What was your dog's first name? I mean your first dog's name? hehe Just Kidding!

I don't know which event yet, but I'm sure it'll be a good one and that the winner will be notified of what the dress standard is.
As for the dog, I can't remember what kind it was. I think a mut

If someone could ask for me. With your new album coming out in the summer, will a tour follow and please say to Canada (Ottawa especially). Enjoyed your music so far and can't wait to hear more.

Canadian Cane

thanks a lot. Canada is cool, no doubt about it. It'd be a great place to go.

Hi Jon,
I've always had the feeling that your American Idol "image" (zany dancing guy) didn't have much to do with what you're really all about? Am I right?

Best Wishes,
Marilyn

Well, it's hard for people to get to know someone in a few minutes of TV time. I like to dance around, but you're right, there's a lot more to it.

Hey Jon! I just recently discovered the website and I'm glad I have an outlet for my fandom. I'm Ren, and I'm a 22yo male from the Philippines.

A few questions.

1. Do you have any plans to release your album in Asia? Specifically South-East Asia? Specifically my country, the Philippines? It's just incredibly frustrating to wait for any of the Idol contestants' CDs, and some of them aren't even here.

2. Any plans to return to this region to promote your album?

3. Have you listened to Fantasia's and Diana's CDs? What do you think of them?

4. Have you had the time (or, well, the interest, even) to catch the new season of Idol? Any favorites?

5. Do you collect anything? What do you collect? And what's your most prized collectible?

Nice to meet you, and I hope to see and hear you someday!

I like to collect CD's and musical instruments.

I haven't had much time in the last few months and I haven't seen an episode of Idol yet. It'd be nice to go to a taping though.

I've listened to both of thier albums and It's fun to listen to people I know.

the album will be in asia if I get with the right distribution company. It's looking pretty good right now.

Kaman89's question:

Jon, where do you go to think of songs to write?

Thanks for taking the time to write. I seem to write a lot during church on sundays.

Kaman89's question:

but don't think that's because I'm a saint or anything. I get pretty bored and my mind wanders.

Dear Jon,
How do you like to start your day? And what part does the Bible play in your everyday life?

Mucho love!
Darlene

It's more of a wish than anything else.

Hello John:
Happy St. Patrick's Day to you.
Congrads on your cd coming out in the summer. The single "Turn to Gray" is excellent. Your interview on Fox Late Night was great and showed your true personality. When your cd comes out in the summer do you plan of touring in New York City? Another question is would you maybe with a future cd sing with your past American Idol cast mates? Thank you. Good luck to you in all you do. Thank you, again.
-Carissa

It'd be fun to sing with some of the other idols. I'd love to work with them on something of my own.

Hey Jon. I wanted to tell you how much I like Turn to Grey. But your other two clips sound really different from it and each other. Is one of the three most characteristic of the music you're writing?

Good question. Most of my music is really eclectic, but I think that's the beauty of it. I've tried to makes songs sound the same as others I've done, but I just feel really cheap, among other things. The answer is thier all my sound
